Simply Smitten: Alfresco Celebrations

via
There is just something about dining outdoors that instantly makes any occasion festive. Whether it's as simple as a lobster bake at the beach, or an elaborate wedding, the addition of fresh air, sunlight, or the sun setting above the trees just somehow always makes it magical.

One of my favorite Easter memories was a few years back when there wasn't a cloud in the sky and I decided to move everything outdoors and enjoy the crystal clear skies. Luckily, I come from a small family so this was not a daunting task. With the sun warming our skin and music in the background, we raised our glasses in celebration and in that moment all was right with the world.

When was the last time you dined outdoors? What would be on your menu for your next adventure?

Simply Smitten: Bewitching Provence

via

I recently picked up, A Year In Provence, by Peter Mayle. Have you read it? Who hasn't dreamt of picking up and moving to an old farmhouse in the heart of Provence or a villa in Tuscany? Until I get up the nerve, I will have to live vicariously through Peter's book and my friend Sara of, Sara in le Petit Village. Sara fell in love, and followed her boyfriend, (now husband), back to his petit village in Provence. She shares her her charming little life with an uncanny ability to always leave me chuckling. What I really want to know is when Sara's book is coming out?!

I am blaming Tumblr for creating my obsession with the Yves Saint Laurent Arty Ring. This is the ultimate statement ring in my opinion. Do you own one or are you currently admiring from afar like moi? What color is your favorite?

Good morning Everyone and welcome to a new week.  I am coveting all things plum at the moment. Richly painted walls, pinched pleat heels,  the new Coach patent satchel all have my heart going pitter patter! I think I've just decided how to use my Anthropologie gift card... those shoes are calling my name. What do you think? Are visions of pretty plums dancing in your head too?

Simply Smitten: The Neutrals

Sometimes remaining neutral is the best choice at hand. This applies in relationships as well as interiors. I helped a good friend of mine redo her entire upstairs and found she had a fear of color. She was automatically drawn to neutral shades and preferred to play it safe when it comes to decor. However, I did manage to talk her into a fabulous color for her master bedroom that she ended up loving!

This has me wondering... are people who are more bold in their decor choices naturally more prone to taking risks in their personal lives? Do you think people who play it safe with their decor are more conservative by nature and less likely to take risks?

In my personal opinion, the people who have the most interesting interiors usually lead the most exciting and adventurous lives. After all, our homes do reflect who we are! What do you think?

Simply Smitten: Pretty as a Georgia Peach

I'm simply smitten with this Atlanta wedding beautifully photographed by, Ali Harper Photography. The bridesmaids look stunning in their pink, Bari Jay gowns. I can never resist a wedding showcasing lovely shades of pink and yellow.

Apparently, the bride and groom met aboard a plane. As fate would have it, they just so happened to be sitting next to each other and the rest is history as they say!

Do you have a cute story of how you met your significant other? I'd love to hear it!

Current Giveaway:  Seasons, a cookbook by the talented Donna Hay.

Simply Smitten: Metropolitan Wedding Shoot

Yes, I am majorly smitten, (o.k., maybe a wee bit obsessed), with this stunningly fabulous wedding shoot photographed by, CLY Creation, and brilliantly styled by Jill LaFleur. The shoot took place in the Metropolitan Building in Queens, New York with stunning views of the city as a backdrop. Soft lavenders, pinks, and sea foam green help to create a soft and ultra romantic setting.... reminds me a bit of LadurĂ©e.  I recognized the candlestick holders from Anthropologie because I actually received them as a birthday gift and they are a favorite of mine.

So tell me... are you swooning over this shoot as much as I am?!
