Fashion Meets Decor

via 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
How fantastic is that first outfit? Love the mix of casual w/ dressy and I think the sneakers are cute. Truth be told, I never look that stylish on the ferry. I usually am in a pair of flip flops and chino shorts trying to keep two nervous, high maintenance mutts for flipping out. The vet suggested Benadryl and assured me it wouldn't harm the dogs, only make them sleepy. They are no fools. Even hidden in a hunk of a string cheese, they managed to eat the cheese and leave the pill. Somehow, while trying to medicate my mutts the saliva coated slippery pill rolled across the ferry floor right into the mouth of a black lab. He wasn't a picky eater and let's just say he enjoyed the trip in a blissful dream state while my two fools shook, cried and made for a very long hour and 1/2.

Dress number two is from the very stylish 9 to 5 Chic. I love her blog. Her looks are all completely attainable and her endless inspiration is shot with beautiful San Francisco as a backdrop.

Which look would you be most likely to be seen in?

Hollywood Meets Decor: Mila Kunis

Beautiful, brown eyed beauty. Mila certainly looks stunning in these photos. She can rock any look from romantic and sultry, to country cutie. I am just loving the rustic mirror and sconces in the first interior. I love wall sconces, they add so much flair to a space. I have them in our dining room, living room, and hubby's office. I would have added more but the darn lighting allowance was already way over budget!

How is your weekend going so far?

Fashion Meets Decor

Happy Friday! Are you excited for the weekend to begin? I know I am. After a whirlwind month of activities, I am looking forward to beginning a slower schedule next week. After all, isn't that what Summertime is all about? Perhaps, now I will have time to fit in my yoga routine and become more consistent with my workouts. Is it too late to get in shape for bikini season? ha! That's me, "Miss Wait Till the Last Minute." I wonder where my son gets it?!... We are procrastinators with a capital "P"!

What outfit/interior most suits your personality? You would most likely find me in outfit #4 and sleeping in the beautiful first bed.

Fashion Meets Decor

via 1+2 3 4-8

This week seems as if it just flew by. The busier the week, the faster it seems to go by. I am excited for my son to come home from his college orientation and hear how his experience with dorm living was. This weekend will consist of Father's Day festivities and relaxation.

I am counting all of my blessings today, including living in a country that affords me so many opportunities and freedoms. There are so many young men and women in the military who put their lives on the line so the rest of us can have those freedoms. This week our community lost one of our own. My heart goes out to his family. Their son, just a young marine, was killed in Afghanistan.  He could have been any of our sons. It is times like these that I am so grateful to be in a small community where everyone comes together.  I hope his family finds even a small amount of comfort in the way the community honored his life and I hope they know that we all appreciate the ultimate sacrifice he made for each and everyone of us. Please hold them in your prayers through this difficult time.

Fashion Meets Decor: Delightful Dresses

via dresses, interiors: 12, 3, 4

Oh, I'm dedicated to my readers... as I sit hear typing away, we are experiencing tornado warnings.  The sky is ebony black with blinding streaks of lightening streaming through it. The violent roar of thunder is accompanied only by the clicking of my loyal little fingers skimming across my keyboard. My dogs are by my feet, totally obliviously, ( I have to admit, for two small dogs they are pretty laid back about the whole thing... if I opened the fridge they would surely perk up)!

All I can say, is that if I'm about to be swirled off to the land of OZ, then I would like to be dressed in one of these adorable dresses to make a good impression on my new friends in Munckinland. I'm choosing dress number one... how about you?

Have you ever experience a tornado?

It was so nice to enjoy a leisurely long weekend. This marks the beginning of a busy week which will
end with my son's graduation ceremony and celebration. A trip to the Nordstroms is in order to buy him a new tie for the event, and I may just have to stop off at J. Crew to see if they have the plaid shorts available in the last photo, (since I've decided to become preppy for the time being, at least until the next phase strikes)!

Are you lusting over the shoe closet as much as I am? I have been putting off my closet re-vamp for awhile now. It's on my agenda after all of the graduation madness comes to an end. My closet is a walk-in and it has great bones. It just needs a little love and it could be fabulous! I have been wanting to do it for a long time but I am what you would call a procrastinator with a capital P.

Is there project that you keep "meaning to do?" What gets you motivated?

Can I just say how much I completely adore that first outfit? Call me a coward, but I get "anxiety" when it comes to mixing prints. In decor, I am not afraid to mix patterns at all, but somehow with my fashion, I fear that I will appear as if I got dressed in the dark. Outfit #1 has be reevaluating my thought process, and I'm thinking I may just need to step outside of my comfort zone. I love the preppy feel and am thinking that I might just turn into a complete prep. It's funny, how the older you get you get, you become more limited with what is age appropriate. Preppy looks good on all ages, from toddlers onward.
Do you find yourself changing your style as you get older?

Fashion Meets Decor: Street Style Faves

fashion:via,interiors: set one: 1, 2, 3, set two, set three: 1, 2, 3, set four: 1, 2, 3 unkown

My love of people watching goes hand in hand with my love of street fashion. I find that the best
inspiration comes from street style. It's ever attainable and always interesting. I love to see another's take on how to accessorize a simple striped shirt or a flowy summer dress.

Where do you find your best fashion inspiration?

Thanks to everyone who entered the blog redesign giveaway. The winner chosen
by random.org is Marie of Marie a la mode. Congrats, Marie... I will email you

Fashion Meets Decor: Casually Cute

J. Crew put the cute in casual. I am a firm believer that comfy doesn't have to mean sloppy. I love my
sweats as much as the next girl, but I save them for home. One stand out piece like a lightweight summer blazer, long necklace or cute clutch is all it takes to go from frumpy to fab.
The same thing is true with interiors. I love how this one of a kind canopy, textured shade, and simple bloom in a cute vase make this room casually cute and interesting.

Fashion Meets Decor: Romantic Connection

via

Is your week off to a good start? I had the most wonderful Mother's Day in the world.
My sister and I took my Mom out on Saturday and we had a lovely time shopping and
we enjoyed a relaxing lunch. Sunday I felt like Queen for a day, my family spoiled me
a bit and I am thinking I could get quite used to it.

I think French Connection has the most beautiful dresses this season.
Summer date nights just got prettier!

If you missed it you can get a peek of my kitchen over at Helena's and if you
happen to be heading anywhere near Boston, I'll make you freshly stewed berries over
vanilla ice cream.
