Hollister and Porter Hovey are design geniuses in my opinion. Their latest book, Heirloom Modern, is living proof. They have been referred to as, "Heirloomists," and I think whoever coined this term was spot on, considering they spent their childhood Saturdays at flea markets.
The New York Times describes the Hollister aesthetic as putting Ralph Lauren, the Royal Tennenbaums, and a whole lot of taxidermy into a tarnished silver cocktail shaker and mixing it all up.
Not only does the book showcase the sisters amazing design skills with stunning photography, it is also a family story-oriented book that is dedicated to their mother, who passed away in 2002.
The Hovey girls have a knack for mixing a number of eras into their designs, creating a timeless décor.
