pretty little details

Good morning, Loves. I'm wondering how many of you are a sucker for details? Little touches make all the difference, whether it be an outfit, décor, and even in our relationships. I love anything that transports something ordinary into something special: chocolate shavings, with whipped cream, to top off hot chocolate, a love letter left on a windshield just because, a perfectly scented bouquet of flowers placed in a bedroom, or gorgeous hand soaps, and fluffy towels, intended to make guests feel welcome.

I know you are all a creative bunch - What little details do you appreciate and add to your daily routine to kick things up a notch and make everything a bit more special?

p.s. Did you see the pooch in the corner of the first bedroom? Too cute!

  1. Good Morning Debby,
I love the details. Right now I am struggling, as my house is in a total shambles, as my living room fireplace is being rebuilt. This is one of the rooms that is most peaceful to me.
For years it had no television, which I prefer, but I love spending time with Alexandra and Graham and their friends watching sports even more. One of those compromises I've had to make.
The woodwork should be finished today... then off to Ben Moore to choose paint!
I will be so happy to attend to those little details again!!

  2. The devil is in the details but then again that's what takes something from pretty to spectacular whether in the home, clothing or anything else. I am a definite stickler for details and even when they might be overlooked by some, they still mean something to me.

Only problem with being a detail oriented person is you get hung up on them and it can make me a little bonkers sometimes! Wishing you a wonderful day!!

  8. Gorgeous pictures as usual Debby! The little details are so important to me - two most important have to be candles and fresh flowers.......a room seems slightly amiss without them to me.

  9. The final details, or the perfect accessories for an outfit are so important. I'm always amazed watching the "pros" go at it. They always find the perfect piece, and they are able to take existing items.. move them around and create something entirely new and fresh. Beautiful pictures Debby;) xxL

  11. To me, it's all about the little details in the morning, starting with a cup of espresso, my Bible and maybe an early morning workout, which I actually recently blogged about here - http://katieokeefeblog.wordpress.com/2013/01/28/espresso/

For my home, I love textures, soft things, beautiful smells, sentimental details and tiny touches of glamour to conterbalance our rustic Oklahoma home.

Love your inspiration today, had to pin the stone work in that kitchen - lovely!

  12. Debby,
I'm with you, it's the details my eye tends to notice first. I love the white pans on the stone wall in the kitchen and the sparkle from the crystal chandelier in the bedroom are so enticing...that, and the doggie.

  13. The first thing I noticed was that little cute fluffy head of the pooch! Yes, it's all about the details. I write a little note each morning on my hubby's chalkboard coffee mug.

  14. Ah yes .. the small details ... I'm learning to again pay more attention to these. Often it really is the simple touches we add to any thing we do that make it extra special. Wishing you a fabulous evening ..xo HHL

  15. It is the little things that makes us go WOW!
Details that are sometimes too simple that
we take for granted or little things that just make a big difference in the end.
    Love your lovely images.
