Home Sanctuaries

Good morning, Loves. Hope you all had a nice weekend. Do you have a spot in your home that has been dubbed your little sanctuary? Perhaps, it's a favorite reading chair, with a steamy mug of tea next to it, or your Master Bath, filled with bath oils and fluffy towels, just waiting to comfort you after a long day?

I have joked many times about trying to live in the bubble bath, so I think you can all guess where my sanctuary is!

  1. My bathroom and bedroom for me....they are my getaway place, and the one place I can totally feel at peace in. Few things feel as wonderful as a hot bath or steam shower.......we all need our own little slice of heaven:) Hope you get to enjoy yours today!

  2. I just got to work and now I want to be in that chair in the first picture...must re-focus back to my desk!! I have two reading chairs in my house which are at times my escape places....I also have a little back porch off my bedroom where I can serve the same purpose. Have a great day, Debby!!

  3. Yes, my place to escape is my sunroom with my comfy chair! I love to shut myself in and be completely along! There is a sliding french door so when I am in there I can still see into the rest of the house but I can't hear anything! It's wonderful! Sure do love that chair and the bathtub that you showed! Hope you are doing well!

  4. it was my bathroom (ok tub) for a LONG time - then it was my office (but somehow that turned into the 'omg friends are coming over throw everything in there and shut the door' room - i'm hoping to turn my basement into THAT place!

  7. Like most of us girls, it has to be my bathroom - and as my bathroom is in my bedroom, it would include this space too! I adore the open plan, romantic style of it, which I designed when we built our home. As a complete contrast, my other sanctuary is in my greenhouse, especially in the Spring - nothing better than to escape from work etc. to the calm, scented, growing environment of this little sanctuary with a cup of coffee to just 'potter'.

  8. Oh my goodness, when I scrolled to your images on your post today all I could think of is, "I want to be there right now." Unfortunately, our home is still rough as we decide what we want to do with our space - no sancuary now. But we have a huge bathtub that needs remodeling, and I would love to make that my new sanctuary.

  9. My little sactuary is the bathtub. A nice hot long lingering bath, bubbles galore, candles all around, nice music and a pillow to rest my head in the tub My retreat. Happy Monday Debby and hope it's a lovely week for you.

  10. Debby,
My "personal" sanctuary is a small room off the kitchen I call the reading room. The dogs and I are the only people that hang there...no TV just a few pieces of furniture and a south facing window that keeps the room filled with sun. A long soak in a hot bath would be my second favorite spot.

By the way, thank you so much for the Paris book. It's sitting by my comfy chair and I'm devouring every image and word...hoping for another trip to Paris someday.

  11. We just redecorated our master bedroom and I was insistent that we carve out a small spot for a chair and table. We managed to do it. I have a wonderful tufted back chair with an ottoman. Next to it is a small antique brass table that holds my TV remote, a candle, faux orchid and of course, a spot for my wine glass or coffee cup. We also bought an electric fireplace that makes the space even cozier without the hassle and expense of getting a real fireplace. I could sit in our bedroom for hours reading, watching TV, and relaxing. I just love it!

  12. I love baths too, but I would say my bed is my favorite place these days.
