With a Hoot and a Holler

Good morning, Loves. I just wanted to pop in and see how your holiday was. Mine was lovely. My son bought me a Nook with his hard earned money. I know how hard he works, and that money is so hard to come by for college kids. I hated him spending his money on me. I was experiencing a combination of guilt, pride, and a knowing deep in my gut that I am blessed to have such great kids.

My daughter surprised me with a some lovely ornaments, a bottle of Jo Malone perfume (heaven), and a Peppermint Mocha candle. She was a busy little elf in the days building up to Christmas. She baked cookies for Santa, (I told her he likes Peanut Butter), built a gingerbread house with her boyfriend, and wrapped presents for her friends. The girl radiates Christmas spirit.

The thing is - I don't need presents. The best gift my kids could ever give me is for me to see them happy. That was the BEST gift I got this year - watching their silly rapport, while wearing their sweaters they picked out for one another.

Now that Christmas is over, I'm looking forward to ringing in 2013 with a hoot and a holler - I just know it's going to be an amazing year!

What did you enjoy most about the holiday? Are you as excited as me about 2013 and all the new adventures it holds?

If you still have not entered my giveaway there is still plenty of time. You can enter to win a copy of  At My French Table by Jane Webster. It's a mouth watering display of photography and delicious food. Good luck!

  6. Good morning beautiful one! We too had a fantastic Christmas, here, all alone. It was quiet, the way I like it and the sun shone brightly into our home.

2013 is a time to look ahead, bringing in all that 2012 has taught me. What is stunning to me is how much EACH ONE OF YOU has contributed to my life. THANK YOU DEBBY, for just being there (and your expertise on blog design!!!!)

BLessings to you my dear! Anita

  7. I'm with you -- I don't need the gifts they buy me...as much as they are valued and appreciated...I just love having them near, enjoying time with them, watching them enjoy time with each other.

Sounds like a wonderful Christmas, Debby. Our Christmas was wonderful with our newly married son and his darling Sarah. Saturday night we will celebrate again with our Austin son, his sweet wife and our fun granddaughter.

  10. Hi Debby! How was your Christmas? It looks like it was great. You are so right about the best present being happy kids. When my kids aren't happy I feel like my world is a failure. But it's impossible for them to always be..right? Here's to a happy happy new year!
