ROMANCE IS IN THE AIR

The holiday season is the most beautiful for romantics like myself. There is so much romance in the air. I'm not talking about standing under the mistletoe and stealing a smooch, or surprise holiday engagements, but the quiet beauty that sweeps you up into a magical-snow-globe-inspired reality.

Horse drawn sleigh rides at dusk under a cozy woolen blanket, exquisitely wrapped packages that hold mysterious gifts chosen with love, delicate champagne flutes, full of bubbly, served on a polished silver tray, that is reserved for special occasions, and fluffy snowflakes, drifting lazily downward, that create an angelic white backdrop for houses strung with lights.

What do you find the most beautiful and captivating about the holiday season?

  1. This is why I chose December for my wedding 29 years ago. The church was decorated for Christmas. We hit the road for Steamboat Springs CO...and the honeymoon even included a sleigh ride to a small cabin where we were served a special dinner. It is a quiet, magical time of year and I love it! I also love your picture of the little deer...so sweet! Have a wonderful day!

  2. I feel like a kid during Christmas. I love thinking of my friends and picking the perfect presents for them. Chrustmas is about family time, reflection, beauty and enjoying the special moments of life.My tree is up, guestlist done, shopping on the way, all we miss is snow...

  3. I have to agree with all of the above, Debby. Romance is not just what the media tells us it is, but it is in the captivating beauty of the untouchable, the intangible, the unbelievable. LOVE TO YOU! Anita

  8. To me this time of year is all about family time. My kids are all home, relatives come to visit and though I enjoy all the fun stuff, thats what is most important.

  9. I don't think I can pinpoint one particular thing I love about the Christmas season. I think it's a combination of things ......memories of childhood, lots of sparkle, twinkling lights, gorgeous Christmas trees, traditional food we only associate with Christmas, time with friends and family......Your images are all beautiful!

  13. Debby,
There is something about being indoors with a blazing fire and a hot cocoa with those you care most about that is romantic to me. I love the sights and smells of the season.
    Enjoy your week.
