I'M BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS

1 / 2 / 3 / 4

With Christmas parties on the horizon, this girl is looking to add some sparkle to her wardrobe. I've been happily searching the internet for items that sparkle, while humming, "I'm beginning to look a lot like Christmas." How about you? Have you bought any sequins or sparkly items for your holiday wardrobe?

Holiday décor is slowly being put out around the Steele abode. I decided to bring out the fake tree this year. Bah humbug. It's definitely not the same as a real tree. Getting a real tree and disposing of it, is every single mother's dilemma. Can you picture the guy at the farm stand tying a 12 ft. tree to the top of my Mini Cooper?

How many blondes does it take to lug a 12 ft. tree upstairs from the basement? One very determined blonde! Every day I prove, again and again, that having a man is not necessary. Elves, on the other hand, would prove handy.

Have you started putting out your holiday décor yet? Will you be getting a real tree this year?

  1. I got my tree on Saturday all on my own some, jeepers what a palava trying to ram it into the car, I had a whole branch attacking my cheek on the drive home. We're lucky, the bin men come and take them away at the end of January.

No Christmas clothes yet, trying o be sensible.

  3. Understanding how strong we are on our own is so important and you are growing daily. I so appreciate the fact that my husband and son put up the tree, but I also know that if I had to do it on my own, I could. Learning to appreciate and understand our own strength is actually the key to a healthy relationship. You will look back on these challenging days at some point in your future and have gratitude for them. I love the last picture...awesome candlesticks.

  4. Have started and once you begin, its contagious. Every day I am doing a little here and there...hope to get the tree this weekend. I agree we woman are MORE than capable...we don't need anyone, I truly and firmly believe that, its only a matter of time before women rule the world (and I really believe that too) and there will be no turning back....we can multi task like nobody's business!
Enjoy the magic of the season Debby.....

  5. Good morning gorgeous one! AND YOU are one determined blond and I am sure that you will get EVERYTHING accomplished that you wish!

We are sparkling over here and if there ever is a time to have the license to do so, it is now. Christmas holidays are NOT THE SAME without the glitter and the glam to me! We went out to a friend's holiday gathering and I WAS IN MY SEQUINS. Everyone else had on jeans and sneakers, but I was in my boots and sequined sweater, thank you very much. :)

ENJOY decorating; I am still working furiously on a paper wedding dress for a window display that will go up after Christmas so I have much to do. But I am taking one room at a time for my décor!

I hope you computer is working; I remember you saying you could not listen to the music I have up. I hope you heard it because without it, my post is nonsense! teehee...LOVE TO YOU! Anita

  8. I feel you on the real tree. I grew up with a real tree, my hubs grew up with fake trees & I somehow agreed on a fake tree until we have kids. So until our kiddo comes along, I'm stuck with this fake tree & it's just not the same!

  9. Wow! I love your last image; it looks so homely and pretty. I will start my decorating this weekend with a real tree in both my lounge and a baby tree in my breakfast room. I'm getting really excited having my first Christmas in the UK after 12 years.

  11. I switched to a small live tree the first year I became reSingled. Now I have two - they smell wonderful and are in gorgeous pots, I wheel them outside in early spring and bring them in around Thanksgiving. Since I have put up and decorated hundreds of cut and artificial trees over the years (I started doing retail interior decor at 17) the simplicity of the live trees in my home is very meaningful and spiritual for me. I'll be posting pics on the web when I finish decorating my apartment. It's a very beautiful and "green" environment.

  12. Ha Ha a real tree! A few years ago the kids and I thought it would be fun to go to the Christmas tree farm and cut our own. There's Christmas tree farm over in Dade City, Florida so off we went. Previous to this we always had a fake tree because the heat here always seemed too intense for a real one. Got it all set up in the great room and the dog thought we had installed indoor plumbing for him! He's big a yellow lab - greyhound mix. The tree was banished to the lanai and we've done fake ever since.

  13. Debby,
I must confess, I threw in the towel a few years back, we own a fake tree. I love the lights on it and the fact that they are already strung perfectly. Just plug that in and hang the ornaments. Enjoy your season, fake tree or real.

  15. With Christmas music blaring and the lights finally on the tree…I'm sitting here in blog heaven while my sweet hubby is determined to light up our Loggia!! Oh my!!! It's so bright out there! We can finally see while we grilled out salmon tonight! LOL! Seriously! it was kind of nice! He actually had my son's electrician that works for his company out today and they installed light switches on the inside of our house to just flip on the out door lights instead of going to three places and getting pricked to death by thorny holly bushes and leaning out of windows to your death to turn on the front bush lights as well as the porch! I promise we are NOT the Griswald's!

  16. I am wanting to add some sparkle to my wardrobe, too! That dress is fun! I fell in love with a gold sequn dress a week ago but they didn't have my size. I'm starting decorating this weekend. Can't wait!

  17. Okay.. I'm totally out of the loop and need to spend more time at the mall. I had no idea Kate Spade has a nail polish line! What will she think of next?

The visual of you getting the tree made me laugh because I was imagining myself doing it. I am a complete klutz so I probably would have created a large noise and something would have ended up broken. Also, I can't assemble things unless I have a perfect instructional diagram to follow. Your courage and willingness to just go for it Debby is to be admired :)

The house is looking festive and have fun getting your sparkle on!
