BEAUTY REVIEW: EVO HAIRCARE

I received a package of evo hair care products recently and was curious to test them out. Did you know I used to be a hairstylist? With that said, I'm pretty much a hard sell. I'm a bit of a product junkie and have all my faves. I can honestly say that a couple of these have made my new fave list.

The products are brilliantly designed, each bursting with personality and providing professional results, while respecting the environment. All products are sulphate, paraben, dea, tea and propylene glycol free.

My friend in public relations, in charge of mailing out the products, asked me what my biggest hair concerns are. I told her volume and color maintenance. Don't let the photo fool you, my hair is stick thin. I have already put in a request with the big guy upstairs that I want thick hair next time around, and a house in Hawaii, but that's another blog post.

My two cents:

BRIDE OF GLUTTONY SHAMPOO *fave: Loved that it worked up into a luscious lather. Smells clean. A bit like tangerines possibly? It truly feels as if you are using something without any harmful additives.

BRIDE OF GLUTTONY CONDITIONER *fave: So this one was going to be a bit of a challenge. I walk a fine line. A lot of times, conditioners that are made to deliver body, don't condition my colored hair enough. This one hit the mark. It conditioned beautifully, left my hair shiny, and put a bounce in my hair, (and my step for that matter).

ROOT CANAL *fave: I prefer to wear my hair full and a bit messy. Since this was not Mother Nature's intent, a really good root lifter is a necessity. Some root sprays on the market have way too high of an alcohol content. This spray imparts body without stickiness and has a very slight powdery scent.

HAZE STYLING POWDER: I honestly have never tried a styling powder before. This was an interesting product. You sprinkle it in your hands, rub your palms together and just fluff through hair. It does add extra volume. I'm picking up some of this for Mom, who doesn't wash every day, due to Mother Nature snubbing her hair follicles as well.

FABULOSO PLATINUM BLONDE CONDITIONER: This is part of evo's color enhancing conditioning line. The conditioners are designed to enhance your hair color, no matter what it's shade. It left my hair shiny, but since I had just recently had my hair colored, I don't think I got the full effect. It's best used as a mini pick me up between salon visits when your color begins to dull.

HELMET HEAD: Very strong hold, powdery scent. I'm thinking perfect for prom updo's. Not sure I would use it daily. I decided to call its bluff and try it out on Cooper. Wouldn't you know the damn fool cooperated? An hour later, his faux mohawk was still standing high. Don't let his face fool you, he loved it. Side note: He's really not that ugly, just a bad photo and a bad hair day.

Have you tried any of evo's products? Have a favorite? You can check out evo's salon locator to find a salon that carries the line near you.

*Thank you, Jo, at The Moxie Agency, for being a joy, and for introducing me to such a great line. Thank you to evo for producing products that are as fabulous as they are fun!

  1. teeeheeee.....what an adorable POST and puppy, Debby!

YOU KNOW, your hair is absolutely fantastic. I would NEVER NEVER have known that you have have the finer hair; this most definitely is a product that produces much volume and I am very curious about that BRIDE OF GLUTTONY shampoo! I must check these out because the mainstream products are just not doing it for me anymore...I am letting my hair grow out, and what a MANE I STILL HAVE...I have a head of THICK, BLACK hair, but in my OLD AGE HERE, it is turning red with some streaks of gray! WHAT IS UP WITH THAT? I have never colored it! But I need a shampoo that will restore some lustre, shine!

I will check it out. AND thank you dear one for coming to visit! Anita

  3. LOL.... He looks adorable ... what are furbabies do for us! Though I have curly hair ... it looks like I have thick hair - but I really have thin hair too... always on the look out for something that adds volume without weight and curly requires lots of moisture - so again moisture without weight. Hmmm .. the powder sounds interesting... as people with curly hair know washing everyday is not good. Great post my friend... xo C. (HHL)
