What's not to love about pink? It is representative of a newborn's skin, sugary swirls of cotton candy enjoyed at the boardwalk, sunsets at the shore, and a child's very first pair of satin ballet slippers. Don't be fooled however, pink is no push over. As feminine as pink is, it is strong and boldly represents breast cancer. It is THE COLOR of females and we are beautiful, nurturing, graceful, and empathetic. We are tough when we need to be, we fight for our families, our children, and wipe our friend's tears. We take care of ailing parents, tend to family pets, and make difficult decisions when faced with life's challenges. It's my favorite color. It's the color of my soul.
Speaking of beauty, I wanted to share my latest find with you all. I picked up The Light Show Palette, from Bare Escentuals. This is exclusive to their boutiques, you won't find it at Sephora. I was looking for something travel friendly to hit the road with. Have you tried any of their pressed formulas? This palette has my favorite bronzer, High Dive, which looks dark, but is totally build-able. The blush is a pretty peachy-pink and the eye shadows are all very blend-able and look beautiful on. The lipgloss is a peach nude, is sheer, and has a peppermint cooling sensation. I prefer to wear the gloss over a pink lipstick for a bit more color. The best part is that it comes packaged in a cute little gold sequined clutch. This palette would work good on so many skin tones.

I actually don't like pink because it's seen as a girlie colour. I'm just a bit of a tomboy at heart. I do however like that very soft blush colour you've chosen above, it's very sophisticated.
ReplyDeleteThere are many pinks which don't appeal to me but this is the soft shade of pink I love - what a gorgeous selection of images - pretty glass tumblers and I could definitely relax in that beautiful bathroom!

I still like a dusty rose pink, but the pastel pinks I live without...I have grown to love more saturated colors. Your makeup palette is lovely and I can see with your coloring how it will look fabulous on you!! But I also associate pink with sweetness and smiles and that is you, my friend. ReplyDeleteI completely agree, pink is my favorite color too! I'm in the process of painting my daughter's room Benjamin Moore's Queen Anne Pink. It's a beautiful "grown up" champagne pink, paired with ivory and fawn velvets and silks and of course a big crystal chandelier and venetian mirror! Beautiful images Debby...have a great day!!

ReplyDeleteI agree with Ruthann. Pink is perfect. I have a pair of pretty pink lounge pants ( fancy sweats) and jacket and I love them. I feel so feminine. Think I need those cozy sweet little slippers! I would love to paint our guest room a lovely soft shade of pink. There is nothing better than a pretty pink lipstick to brighten my mood. Can you tell I love pink! What I love most about being a woman....so many things but one is I love to be girlie and dress up when I go out.
