Did you all have a nice Thanksgiving? I had the best Thanksgiving ever. It was a dancing around the kitchen with the kids type of holiday. The day after Thanksgiving, I traditionally pad around in my slippers and loungewear, putting up Christmas décor while shunning myself for eating that last piece of pie for breakfast. You can usually catch me curled up in front of the fireplace at some point, breaking out all of my favorite Christmas films: The Holiday, Elf, It's a Wonderful Life...Well, if we are going to be honest here, any Christmas movie is a favorite in my book.
This year I'll be dressing the masses. That is the beauty of retail, People. Along with a fun environment, pretty clothes, great people, and wonderful co-workers, there is also the inevitable Black Friday in all of it's craziness. Now where is that Red Bull?
How will you be spending your Friday afternoon? When do you typically put up your Christmas décor each year? What is your favorite Christmas movie? Lastly, I'm looking for some new Holiday music this year, what do you suggest?

ReplyDeleteWe only put up our Christmas wreaths today on the house and carriage barn and they're all ready to go. Just need to get the husband outside and up a ladder. As for black Friday I avoid it as much as possible but unfortunately have to go chase thread for my work. Sounds like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and I hope the holidays are all you wish for...More deer!

GIRL, you and me both are in the same mood. WE HAD SNOW LAST NIGHT as I was literally taking the turkey out of the oven; it was magic.
ReplyDeleteI ate like a hog.
I woke up DIZZY and I have had that effect on me before with turkey...bizarre!
OK, I am going to have a post NEXT WEEK with some kick butt music but SHHHHH....not yet to be revealed. The Little Drummer Boy always makes me get on my knees and THANK GOD, Oh Holy Night makes me sing out loud and praise HIM, and Amy Grant's Sleigh Bells gets me happy.
LOVE THESE IMAGES and tonight I am stoking up my fireplace!! LOVE! Anita
Hi, That's funny, you know turkey has been giving me that dizzy feeling too lately..it is bizarre! All good songs...thanks, I'm going to play them for my kids :) Merry Christmas :) ~Priscilla

Debby,
ReplyDeleteThat's the best Thanksgiving, dancing around the kitchen with family and friends! We enjoyed that kind of holiday too...it's the best, all about the abundance and blessings we all enjoy!

P.S. Best images!
Sounds delightful!
ReplyDeleteLOVE THESE PICTURES and all of those movies, too! Happy Thanksgiving and beginning of the most wonderful time of the year!
ReplyDeleteWe had a nice Thanksgiving…if you can overlook the fact that my sweet son got violently sick the morning OF Thanksgiving! Holly brought her stomach bug here…poor Miller! Had to go get 3 shots that night just to make it! Hopefully it won't go through the rest of us! Other than that…we've been resting, sitting by the fire, putting up Christmas decorations, etc…So glad you had such a great time with your kids! It's A Wonderful Life is my ALL TIME favorite Christmas movie and I love Mariah Carey's Christmas! It's fabulous!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving Debby. We don't really celebrate Thanksgiving here in Australia, but I think it is such a lovely tradition that I wish we could start something similar here. I can't wait to have a cold weather Christmas someday. At the moment we are all sprawled over various sofas as far away from each other as we can get with the fans on as the summer temperatures ramp up. Still watching Christmas movies though :) My favourite's have to be 'The Muppets Christmas Carol' and 'The Holiday'. I used to have a love/hate relationship with working in retail over the holiday season. Loved gift wrapping and helping people choose gifts (I worked in the perfume department for a few years) but hated the longer hours.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you and your loved ones.
Debbie....I'm so happy you had a fabulous T.G. and a great day on Friday. I painted my dinning room and so far I'm very pleased with how it looks.....at least for now!
ReplyDeleteHi Debby these images are soooo gorgeous!! Talk about setting a mood..sounds like a perfect day! Ours was amazing too...spent with family by the beach ( a first and a definite must do again)! It was nothing but great food, quality time with family, and fun. I love the day after, where we squeezed in a little shopping, a lot of eating and walks on the beach which was my personal highlight. The 4 day break was so great...but I must admit I really missed blogland too so am happy to be back! So happy your holiday was wonderful....now it really goes into overdrive with Christmas less than a month away!
ReplyDeleteaaw Debby, I loved reading this post and feeling your happiness, sounds like you had a great Holiday, so so glad for you and your kids!! xx
ReplyDeleteI'm going to wait (desperately try and hold out) until the 1st and then I'm going to go plum crazy! Bring on the lights! :)
