I guess I am just easily amused but I find humor in the silliest of situations. I was reading about Peacocks and decided that they are not all that different from humans. Turns out they are very sociable and require companionship. The collective name for a group of birds is referred to as a party. Male birds have a harem of 2-5 females. Typical. Females choose their male counterparts based on the
On a more serious note, I'm loving the rich jewel tones of emerald. Do you own any emerald jewelry, clothing, decor?

So in love with all the emerald tones. I did have an emerald silk top, but ruined it by spilling some thing on it :(
ReplyDeleteHave a fab Thursday Hun xoxo

YOU CAN LEARN A LOT from nature, can't cha? teeeheeee....those males....they are ALL the same!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE EMERALD and your photo picks for the day dearest are gorgeous. I do not own any emerald jewelry, but a vintage emerald encircled in pavé diamonds would be NICE!
Love those shoes. Enjoy the day my dear! Anita
Looooove emeralds, my favorite stone. I have one ring, that my husband gave me for my 40th birthday/Christmas/anniversary which I love so much. Funny facts about the birds, and peacocks are my favorite, they are so elegant....love that first picture. And the green dress and shoes? LOVE! Enjoy your day Debby, did you get snow? We got 4 inches!! Crazy...a hurricane and a snow storm within 10 days???
ReplyDeleteAdore emeralds, and just realized I don't own one single piece of clothing that color :(
ReplyDeleteEmerald is a rich luxurious color ... love it! and peacocks keep popping every where for me, over the past couple of months ... after looking up their symbolism - I would say my Angels have been sending me lots of messages. I always find your posts most inspiring and relate to them often, so not surprised to see the peacock... I'll be sharing a post about them soon and the Angels.
ReplyDeletehad to smile at the "confusion" of tail - wallet ..lol... call me "old fashion" or "old" but I think men have forgotten they are the providers, women are the nurtures ... without a balance , it all goes to the birds. :)
hope you are well ... hugs, C. (HHL)
Good lord could that shot of the emerald dress be more gorgeous?
ReplyDeleteMemoirs & Mochas
stunning colour indeed! a bit off topic, we had some peacock feathers in our stairs for years and just removed them because I read somewhere they bring bad luck!
ReplyDeleteI think it's bad feng shui to have peacock feathers in the house. I seem to recall my mother or grandmother mentioning that to me because I love peacock feathers and wanted to use it in my own decor.
DeleteHave always love emerald green...rich and gorgeous as your post is!! Have a shimmering day!
ReplyDeletePeacocks are beautiful but you know they make an ungodly noise right? We have sage green in our home but no emerald green but I do wear it a lot since I love green!

ReplyDeleteNo , I don't have anything emerald , but it's so classy!
Our neighbors raise peacock - love to watch them!
Have a pretty day!
Kristin
Haha! I never knew this!
ReplyDeleteAnd now I want a stunning green dress. Wow!
Beautiful images! I don't have anything in emerald. I might have to rethink my wardrobe after seeing these pictures!
ReplyDeleteMy grandparents had a peacock next door to them and I was always terrified of being chased by it! it was pretty funny! On a serious note…emerald is my new favorite color and I'm on a search for a great emerald top for Christmas parties, etc…! This just inspired me! Thanks, Debby!
ReplyDeleteI love this..your writing here is so witty and enjoyable! And emerald is my color of the moment. I love the rich deep green for a wonderful winter pop of color!

How I love Green!
ReplyDeleteLove your comparison... still chuckling!! Love the lush greens too as its only 5:00 o'clock and already so dark and bleak in New England.
ReplyDeleteHarem! Debby you a so funny. I saw a patient today that's 56 and just found out her hubby is seeing one of those birds .. and she's 31 .. Skin doesn't react well to stress and weight loss. I'm looking forward to helping her out ;)
ReplyDeleteAny-who.. love the colors but train size doesn't impress me:)
I loved the way you placed the sequence of the images, from the glorious peacock with the ruffle of green feathers down his back, with a nice segue to the dress with the flounce of ruffles at her back.
ReplyDeleteAs for the comments about the peacock and his harem, I had a laugh out loud moment at that! Which elicited a response from my husband that I was obviously not working as hard as he was, if I had time to read things which made me laugh! Which after your comments on the male of the species, amused me even more!!
Keep it up Debby! Deborah - Melbourne.
Does anyone know where the gorgeous green dress is from? Or the source of that photo?
ReplyDeleteDebby,
ReplyDeleteI love emerald green but don't own too much of the color in clothing and I certainly don't own any emeralds, darn. My grandmother was a May born person and she loved emeralds, her birthstone.
Interesting about peacocks...I love to read about animals in nature and they companion choice. I like the fact that swans made for life.
