A WINTER WISH

The weather forecast is calling for flakes or drops. I've got my pinkies crossed that it's flakes. Where are you located? Have you seen snowfall yet this year?

I'm looking forward to the weekend. I'll be in cahoots with a girlfriend and we have some fun things planned, that I will share with you all next week. It's been long week so some fun is in order. My son, who was sick after Thanksgiving, now has tonsillitis. He was sent to the emergency room and seems to be doing better, so we are hoping surgery is no longer on the table. If you have a college-aged child, then you know how tough it can be when they are out of state. Can we just say the kid needs a break already?

Today I'm off to take my lovely niece out for her birthday. Seems like just yesterday she arrived. She was the only baby in the family, so we all dotted on her as if she was the only baby girl on the planet. It's been a pleasure to watch her grow from a blonde toddler with pigtails, into a beautiful, determined and fun young lady.

So today I'm wishing for a Saturday filled with flurries, health for my son, and many adventures and opportunities for my niece, as she embarks upon a new year.

What are you all wishing for today?

  1. I was sick a lot in college and it is tough...i will say a prayer for him. As far as snow, we have not seen any measurable snow since 1985! So sad...I have many wishes on my plate and one of them would be for South Texas to have a couple of good freezes this winter to kill off some bugs...but as of yet, UNSEASONABLY WARM!

  2. I remember tonsilitis in college all too well - I wish him a speedy recovery. Gorgeous images to put me in the Christmas mood - especially the first one!

  3. I have managed to hold onto my tonsils ... Hope your son does too!! and that he bounces back quickly.

Though there has been lots of snow just 30 minutes north of us, we have only seen a few scattered flurries ~ it's really cold and eventually we too will be covered in a white blanket.

Hoping to finish the final few purchases this week-end and wrap. Wishing you a fabulous week-end!! xo C. (HHL)

  6. We rarely get snow here in southern California. Fortunately I live at the base of the mountains and it's only a short drive to the snow. I hope your son is feeling better.

  10. Sorry about your son :( My daughter had her tonsils removed the summer after her freshman year in college, and it was rough - hopefully he won't have to do that...

  17. Debby,
My Saturday wish, should I have been able to get to my emails before now, would have been for a successful wedding between my second son and his lovely fiance...my wish was granted.
Hope your son is feeling better, and I hope you got a light snow.
