Good morning, Loves! Are your preparations underway for Thanksgiving? I have not had a minute so will unfortunately be battling the long lines with all of the other last minute slackers at the market.
What are you most thankful for this year? We all have so much to be grateful for, sometimes we might take for granted how much.
Yesterday when I got out of work I ran home, fed the dog, and had to make a trip down to Rhode Island to pick up my son for Thanksgiving. The dog, who had been home alone for 9 hours started crying because he was about to be abandoned yet again. I'm a push over for whiny fur babies, so I let him come along, with the following warning: "No shaking, trying to crawl on my lap, getting all worked up, vomiting and absolutely no passing gas in my car whatsoever." He cocked his head, wagged his tail and hopped in my car.
It was close to 11:30 in the evening we got off the highway. I was bone tired. You've all been there, blinking your eyes trying to stay awake, while rolling down the car window for a rush of cold air to keep you from dozing off. There is a quiet back road on the way to my house, and in my sleepy state I decided I wanted to see a deer. I've said it before that I always think it's good luck to see a deer. I was trying out the law of attraction and basically was believing that I would see a deer. We were half way down the lengthy road and Bambi was still nowhere to be found. I quietly said in my head, "God, show me a sign, let me see a deer. I know you have been looking out for the kids and I. I KNOW it. I know you have good things planned for us all. I also believe you are able to put a deer on this road should you choose."
We were nearing the end of the street when what do you think I saw? I kid you not there he was. A magnificent creature standing at the edge of someone's lawn, looking directly at us.
My son yelled: "Deer!" He saw him first.
My heart skipped a beat. It was a five year old on Christmas morning type of excitement.
Me: "Oh, I have to tell you something. Don't think I'm nuts. I can't believe it."
Son: "You're running away to join the circus? I knew it." (always the comedian).
Me: "Yes to the circus, I'll be riding an elephant. Anyways, the whole time we have been on this road I decided I wanted to see a deer. I basically asked God to show me one and there he was."
Son didn't quite share my enthusiasm. I think he was trying to assess whether or not I had finally went off the deep end.
Son: "I'm believing I'll have a new car in the driveway then."
Me: "No, seriously, can you believe it? Do you get the magnitude of this? It's a mini miracle."
Son still not fully sharing in my excitement, but I still think he heard the message. Have faith. Believe. We are not alone. There is so much to be grateful for. We are bigger than ourselves.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday to those of you who celebrate the occasion. What are you most grateful for today?

Good morning my friend! What a lovely post to start my day... Yes, HE certainly does let us know, we are not alone. Today I'm grateful for all the detours this life of my has taken without warning. For the lessons I've learned (and continue to learn) along the way - I just know are taking me closer to really being able to help others and make a difference in the world. Wishing you a very blessed day!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your miracle! xo C. (HHL)
Thanks to the baby in my belly, this post literally made me tear up- so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful story! I'm most thankful for my husband, family & friends. Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteI'm smiling Debby, maybe you should come to my house because even with Dylan dog out in the side field we have several of those miracles out there too eating at the deer blocks. They don't mind Dylan since he doesn't chase them and has been known to play with the fawns, its really cute.
ReplyDeleteI'm most thankful for the roof over my head since after Sandy so many people don't have one. And peace in my part of the world since there seems to be chaos everywhere right now. I couldn't ask for more.

There is a quote by Oswald Chambers about God revealing his love to us in the tiny things, to show us how intimately he knows us. Oh how He loves you...
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving, may you and yours be blessed.

I love deers.
ReplyDeleteI often think that God is in the small things, like plants and animals. Especially animals, because they are so innocent. It's like he's saying, take care of the living things, and I will take care of you.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

DEBBY DARLIN'!!!!!!!!!!! I am in my basement working on a huge order that needs to get out PRONTO and I have not had a chance to visit anyone this week!
ReplyDeleteI BELIEVE IN MIRACLES...and I am going to believe that I will get this order out by Friday.
MY GOODNESS I share in your experience. I cannot tell you how many times miracles as such have come my way. I truly believe that many miracles can come true VIA US, but things such as THIS are truly from HEAVEN. GOD IS GOOD. HE LOVES YOU and all of us and HE is the whole reason for this holiday season. YOU ARE IN HIS HANDS!!!!!
Big hugs and much love to you, you gorgeous person, YOU! Anita
God loves us and will reveal his love in so many ways...he gives us gifts every day..and I do believe he will answer these types of prayers. It is a sign to you that he watches over you and your children every day and keeps you under the protective covering of his wings. He has answered many prayers like this for me and others. He is there and because of that you need only trust and never fear. I see deer every morning when I walk...I will no longer take them for granted! Draw nearer to Him, Debby, and see the amazing miracles He will do for you. It is His blessings and protective covering that I am most thankful for this year! But, on a side note, it took me a while to go past the first picture...YUM!
ReplyDeleteSeeing a deer must be a good sign, it simply must be.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family, Debby.
Love these photos. Wishing you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving together.
ReplyDeleteThe photo of the owl and the deer are beautiful. We don't have to wish to see deer here. They are everywhere....... Don't worry, I know that wasn't the real message. Just those signs to help us along our journies.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving.
There are miracles all around us. Good for you to being so spiritually open to recoginze it.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Thanksgiving Debby, enjoy spending time with your loved ones.
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday Hun xoxo

Debby, I am beyond Thankful for this post! I have prayed for you for months and I've prayed that God would bring you a miracle! This just made my Thanksgiving! Even a mini miracle is still a miracle! You are definitely under God's wing and He loves you! I am so very thankful that you and I have become friends through blogging…I couldn't ask for anything more! Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post! I believe in signs too! God Bless your family and strength this Thanksgiving. I am thankful this year for many things including your help with my baby steps in blogging - thank you. Guess what I am doing on Thanksgiving this year . . . . . despite many lovely invitations since my boys are with their Dad - I am staying home in my PJ's and watching movies all day!!! I'm actually very excited. Everyone thinks I'm going somewhere else or they would never let me do it but I am ready and want this. For the first time in four years after divorce and one year without a significant other, I am ready to be grateful alone. xoxo
ReplyDeleteDebby,

ps; loved that owl image!
The only way to be happy is to always be grateful. Whenever I'm feeling upset I start making a list of things to be grateful for. The human brain can only focus on one thing at time so the thankfulness overtakes the negativity. Happy Thanksgiving to a truly beautiful (inside and out) woman!

I teared up watching this. I love that you saw the beauty and significance in the small miracle. I try to focus on the small things I am grateful for when I am down. And realize I do have a lot to be thankful for. Looks like this was your Thanksgiving miracle.

ReplyDeleteKeep on having faith Debby! xx
