Just when I thought I could put my flip flops away for the season, summer makes it's return. Summer has decided it's not quite ready exit, filling the air with a heavy, muggy haze, typical of a New England Indian Summer. Native Americans believed Indian Summer was caused by a warm wind sent from their God. I think Mother Nature just isn't good at decision making. She's probably one of those that can't decide on what outfit to wear, takes a whole 10 minutes picking out a nail color for a pedicure and makes the waitress come back 3 or 4 times before she can decide on an entree.
I heard another thought provoking Native American tale the other day.
Grandfather to his grandson: "There are 2 wolves that live inside you and they are having a battle. The first wolf is selfish, mean, bitter, angry, negative and melancholy. The second wolf is positive, happy, giving, caring, grateful and compassionate."
Wide-eyed grandson: "Wow, Grandpa, I wonder which one will win?"
Grandfather: "Which ever one you feed, my son."
How true is this? If we feed our negative emotions they grow and consume us. If we nourish the positive, the law of attraction brings good things our way. Do you believe we are what we think?
