Guess Who Dropped the Ball?

Remember my big plans to capture September by taking a photo a day? Finding the time to take a photo a day proved harder than I thought. Not even 1 single photo was taken. Nada. I got off to a bad start when my camera broke. September just kind of got away from me. Excuses. I was working twelve hour days between my job and blog designs, several court appearances created a major nuisance and then car shopping for the kids got added to the mix. More excuses.

This past Saturday I enter daughter's bedroom.

Me: "I kinda have a problem."

Daughter: "What is it?"

Me: "I said I was going to take a photo a day for Sept. for blogging and haven't taken a single photo."

Daughter: "Do it next month."

Me: "I could, but I invited others to take the challenge too. I totally dropped the ball. I could take 31 photos today." The procrastinator in me has won yet again.

We laugh and I decide to just try again in October. The good news? October in New England is glorious! Things should slow down a bit in October and there is nothing more relaxing than strolling with a camera. Care to join me for real this time?

  7. Debby I wouldn't worry about dropping the ball we all have lives and sometimes they get busy. I'm noticing from you it only takes a minute to tie someone to you and then a lifetime to get rid of them...what is up with that?

    Enjoy this gorgeous day!

  8. I wouldn't worry about it...I actually forgot you were going to do that until you mentioned it. Maybe you should try once a week. That seems more realistic. It could be a Friday picture!

  16. I'm new to your site so I hadn't heard about the picture a day, but this is a great idea and I think I'll try to do it for my own blog. I really do forget to take pictures even with the opportunity is there. Hey, October is a great month for photography.

  17. October is perfect! I never thought I'd get a post in on Sunday for my other blog…got it in by the hair of my chinny chin chin! Now I'm fretting over What If Wednesdays! However…with all we have going on I've made myself take a step back and determine what is really important! I think you've done the same! No matter when you post pics we will all be there to see and look very forward to them!

  18. That's OK Debby! Sometimes even though we have the best intentions...life happens and other things must take priority. Be gentle with yourself. I hope you are treating yourself to a long luxurious bubble bath every evening after being on your feet all day. I love the exchanges you share between your daughter and you. You two sound like you have a close relationship. That's so wonderful. XO

  19. HA! I did the same thing! I thought I'd take a photo of day of different shots of my village in September as a way to get better at taking photos and to have more to blog about, and I totally forgot! I'll do it in October with you :)
