DOG is GOD Spelled Backwards

I'm fond of saying, "Dog is God spelled backwards because they both love unconditionally." If you are a dog lover, then this statement will ring true with you. Surely you recognize Boo, (photos 1+2), he's been dubbed the cutest dog in the world and I think that assessment is pretty accurate.

My little guy is supposedly a long haired Chihuahua, but I believe there was some funny business in regards to his AKC papers because he looks suspiciously more like a Papillon.

Dogs love so much and require so little. My little guy is the perfect man, (if only he could bring home a paycheck). He stays by my side all day. He acts like he hasn't seen me in a year if I return from the mailbox. He would never dream of complaining about my cooking, licking the plate every time. He doesn't care if I put on a pound or two, or if I've put off the salon for too many weeks and my roots are screaming white trash. I swear he even senses when I'm upset and always snuggles up to try to give comfort in his own little way.

Are you a dog lover? Got a photo of your pooch you would like to share? Email it to me and I'll share it here with a link to your blog. It would love to see the mutt who has captured your heart. If you want to include a little blurb about your four legged kid feel free.

My little guy: Cooper, age 3, Papihuahua

Pacino, 10 months, Yorkie. Owner: Lauren of Champagne Reveries
"Pacino frequently falls asleep with toys in his mouth because he doesn't want to stop playing!"

Peaches, 15 years, Poodle. Owner: Connie of Wax Beach Artist
"Peaches was born with no eyes. I used to work at a vet (23yrs) and she was born c-section at the clinic. She would not breathe and I gave her mouth to snout. She was all balled up and looked like a little peach, hence her name."

Sam, Beagle. Bestie: Christine of Fancy Function
"Sam is my parents Beagle (but I love him like he's mine!) He's cuddly and affectionate but also incredibly mischievous!"

Aretha, age 12, Schnauzer. Owner: Tereza of Casa Tres Chic
"She is intelligent, funny and I call her my angel, my shadow, because she is with me all day long and that makes me feel privileged."

Bocci, Age 3 1/2.  Matisse, Age 10. Yorkies. Owner: CJ of Peep This Chica
"Bocci still has her puppy coat (at 3-1/2 years old) and is the bossy one of the bunch, but totally loveable. she pops up to kiss me as soon as i make a move every morning and keeps all the birds and squirrels out of our new garden."

"Matisse (the blonde one) is almost 10 years old and only cares about 2 things - food & cuddling."

Boomer, Boomeranian AKA Boomer. Owner: Cara of Lilac + Grey
"His favorite food is Blue Buffalo's Turkey Meatloaf Dinner, and his favorite past times are playing with his "babies," lounging on the front porch, and riding in the car."

Fifty, Staffordshire Belgian Shepard mix. Owner: Sara of Sara in le Petit Village
"On Saturday, December 5th, The Husband and I headed out shopping for a Christmas tree. Somehow along the way, we found ourselves at the animal rescue center instead. The rescue center was full of dogs and only one puppy. I wanted an older dog, one who had already been trained and didn't have much hope of adoption, but the woman that worked there was adamant we take the puppy. I took one look at him and knew he was ours. The Husband immediately named Fifty (guess what we were listening to in the car on the way there). Fifty and his siblings had been abandoned in a box next to a dumpster (he's my slumdog). Luckily, someone found them and brought them to the rescue center.
That first night, we gave him a bath and he slept for eight hours straight. He hasn't slept through a night since. He is at times the bane of my existence but always my furry little angel (even if he does terrorize the village)..."

Tinley, 9 months old. Owner: Jeanette of Everton Terrace
"This was not long after we brought her home from the Humane Society.  She smiled like this and stole our hearts. When she smiles she lifts up her top lip and shows full gums and teeth, cutest. thing. ever.  We all love her so."

  2. Well I've talked about my love of dogs many times and you know I'm right there with you.

My daughter says the best part of her day is the early evening when she and my husband take our 9 month old pup to the dog park at night. She brings several squeeze bottles of water and all the dogs surround her for "drinks". The dog beach is Coronado is my favorite way to start a day :)
Will see if I have a cute photo to send you.

  3. Boo is sooooooo cute...what a love. They DO make the best companions and truly love unconditionally, no doubt. I think I might have to oblige and send in Teddys close up with a blurb about his sweetness that knows no bounds. Enjoy your weekend Debby!

  4. I am hoping that sometime in the near future i'll get a dog. I've been wanting to get one for a while but most rentals here in Australia have a no crawling pet policy. In some places its actually hard to get a fish tank in

But when i settle, it'll be a German Shepherd, Maltese or Pomeranian. I'll be locking the first 2 photos in my memory bank for the future :)

  12. I was just talking to my mom about the love you get to give and receive from your dog. My dog is my baby, he is so special to me. The bond, the fact that they truly are so happy to see you everytime you arrive home. I have a Yorkie, he's 4 1/2 pounds. I look at him and wonder how can so much love be in such a small dog. He's full of love! I am 100% a dog lover :) Wonderful post!
