Happy Monday, Everyone. Did you have a nice weekend? I have been seeing quite a few movies at the theatre now the our summer schedule has slowed down. Friday night I saw Ted which was hilarious, if you are a bit uptight, you might not appreciate the humor, but I found it hysterical. I also saw Disney's Brave, which delivered an inspiring message in true Disney fashion about deciding one's own fate in life. My daughter and I sobbed at the end, while her friend sat there dry-eyed and was amused by our flood of emotion. Lastly, my girlfriend and I saw Magic Mike, which was pretty much a flop, but I think I'd pay $10.50 again to see Channing Tatum strut his stuff, (can you say cougar)? Hey, I'm middle-aged...not dead.
Have you been to the theatre lately? Anything films you would recommend?

Happy Monday, Debby! I do want to see Brave, but there just hasn't been anything that motivated me to pay the ticket fee!! I'm glad you got a little "escape" time!! Now...I am so excited that my future daughter in law just selected purple and pewter for her winter wedding colors...I love a gorgeous deep purple!! Have a wonderful week!!
ReplyDeleteOh I saw a preview of it, it looks so funny!
ReplyDeleteI've not seen these films, but I love the cinema & always have a big bag of popcorn to munch on while watching the movie!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday Hun xoxo

I heard about BRAVE and the other movie, well, I have not heard of! But I can relate to the sobbing part; my best pal and I cry at the drop of a hat for the same reasons while her darling daughter just CANNOT UNDERSTAND why the waterworks start with us! Ahhh.....girlfriends, nothing like it.
ReplyDeleteHave a splendid day and that plum room is FAB! Anita
I haven't been to the cinema in a while, but cant wait to watch Batman, I'm a big fan!
ReplyDeleteHi Debby,
ReplyDeleteThat first picture is a show stopper!!! Makes me want to brighten things up here with some serious color!
I haven't been to the theater in a while, though hubby and I watched several movies at home. The only one I enjoyed was We Bought a Zoo, which was perfect to watch with our young sons.
Here's to a fabulous week, gorgeous!!!
xoxo Elizabeth
This post had me laughing all the way through. I haven't seen anything in the cinema yet because i've been pretty busy. But i want to see Brave if i get the chance, and i'm pretty sure i won't be crying about it lol.
ReplyDeleteI want to see James Bond and the new Bourne Legacy coming out soon :) I'm an action baby

What ever you do don't go see Ted. Didn't notice the ratings and it looked like a cute movie. Every other word was the F-bomb. I am not sure why Hollywood thinks this is art.It is just an easy, non creative way to make money. It could of been a really cute movie.
ReplyDeleteOh my, those purple silk drapes!! And the napkin ring - jewelry on the table. Love it! I saw a documentary yesterday - Runaway Slave - done by C.L. Bryan regarding the re-enslaving of the American Black community by the policies of entitlement. Heavy, but well done, very informative and enlightening.
ReplyDeleteMy friend and I went and saw Brave yesterday and I started crying at the end of the movie too! It was such an inspiring story in true Celtic fashion.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous post, Debby! Absolutely stunning! I loved Brave- I love all things Scotland! Mr. Tatum... I'll stay away lest I develop a crush, hee hee.
ReplyDeleteI'm all over purple myself gorgeous rooms! I haven't been to a movie in years I always wait for them to come out on direct TV. I can't sit for two hours I'm to antsy.
ReplyDeleteXX
Debra~
Gorgeous images, Debby! I don't use enough purple!
ReplyDeleteGlad that you were able to get to the theater. Need to do that myself.
Happy Monday,
Teresa

This post is a whole lotta pretty, Debby! Just gorgeous! As far as movies go, I was wondering about Ted. Totally will go see it now. And I did manage to squeeze in a little Magic Mike action. Now that is one good looking man. I kinda wish there was more dancing and less acting. LOL :) xoxo
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by sweet Debby! Hope you are having a great day and that the heat wave is past you...what a wicked last week!!!! Anita
ReplyDeleteHave to get to the theater...really want to see People like us!! I have never been a huge fan of purple but somehow this post does it sweet justice.....looks so pretty!!
ReplyDeleteSee you tomorrow:)
Loved seeing your use of purple! I knew when I posted about the purple bottles I fell in love with that they made me happy and that they would make other's happy as well! There's just something about it! I first fell in love with the color when I was dating my sweet husband…his grandmother's favorite color was purple and she grew african violets like no one I've ever known! I never go to movies but you've made we want to see these! Channing Tatum is the one and only from right up the road from me and I've never seen him in a movie…I guess there's no better time than the present! While we were in New Orleans last week we got to see the people going in and out of the "wrap" party for Django…my daughter has been obsessed with watching the filming, etc…in New Orleans and they've met some of the film crew, body guards, etc…it was fun! There's nothing like Hollywood glamour to get us all in an uproar! Hope your world is calming down and I'm so glad I get to read your sweet posts! Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteI love shades of pink & purple mixed together. I've noticed that purple-lovers call it purple & pink-lovers like me call it dark pink. It suits us all.
ReplyDeleteI can relate to tearing up over a movie. I'm completely & ridiculously sappy. Yesterday my girls were watching Beezus & Ramona. I walked in for the part of the movie when their cat dies & had to leave the room for crying. I know; crazy.
Xo,
Keri
loving all the glorious pink

The colour palette of this post is mon dieu, such beautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to the movies lately but yesterday I got a copy of One Day, which I hadn't seen. I had read the book so I knew the story but I thought I'd cry my eyes out!
I'm jealous of your movie going! I'm dying to see Ted and Magic Mike (well that one goes without saying really!) xo
ReplyDeleteMy favourite hues!
ReplyDeleteUgh! Need a movie night asap...
