Romance Me

via

Do you buy into the notion of romance? I think we all wish for a bit of romance in our lives because it gives us hope that there's a world in which happily ever after is obtainable. It tells us that someone cares deeply enough to think of us, plan a surprise, and let us know that we are cherished and special. I think that's all any of us really want... to feel appreciated, accepted, and loved.

What would your ideal romantic evening look like? A stairway lit with tiny white tea candles and love notes left for you to follow clues that lead to a massage table? Dining under the stars? An over abundant vase of  gorgeous white roses? An unexpected jewelry box filled with a necklace, chosen especially with you in mind. Music and dancing? Cuddling in front of the fire with funny dvd's and popcorn?

  1. I am such a romantic! Usually it's the little things he does, like plug my phone in or put my laundry away. Then there's the big things, like buy me a necklace on HIS graduation day that just sweeps me off my feet. He's one for words, that Branflake.

  2. Many.many years ago my husband and I stayed at a Bed & Breakfast during December...there was a hot tub right off the front porch...we arose early one morning to get in the hot tub and watch the sunrise over the hills...it was freezing outside of the water...that is the most romantic time I can remember...I think a repeat is long overdue...thanks for the reminder, Debby!! Happy Friday!

  4. Hmm, I'm not romantic at all, neither is hubs, I don't think either of us would know how to plan anything romantic.

  5. I love romance in all its forms. The ideal romantic evening involves a blanket, wine, and watching the sunset over the ocean. What I've discovered over the years is that some of the most romantic moments of my life were unplanned, they just happened.

  9. ALL of this is my idea of romance my dear...and understated nuances such as these images evoke EXACTLY what I love and envision and try to create! THANK YOU FOR COMING OVER TODAY. Oh, I am loving making these shoes. I am good with my hands and rather than sewing with fabrics, I prefer and work better with PAPER! My goodness these photos are FABULOUS!!! Love, Anita

  10. Romantic is a definite word I would use to describe my out look on life, no matter what life's journey takes me. It's wonderful to have a romantic evening (day) with a spouse, but I also enjoy a romantic evening to myself. Enjoying quiet time, taking time to indulge in an evening of pampering ...bubble bath, soft music , candles, a glass of bubbly or cup of tea and curling up with a good book afterwords ...Happy week-end..xo HHL

  11. Bonjour Debby,
Oui, oui all the above is perfect. I also think romance is about a way of living, all the unspoken things we do for the ones we love, and vice versa!
    Bonne week-end,
    Mimi

  13. I'm a hopeless romantic, always try to find and make more romance in everyday life. I imagine a vacation to Nantucket to be very romantic. It's all in my imagination because I've never been there, but it has been stuck in my head that way for a long time. I hope I'm not disappointed when I go someday. :)

    Love all your romantic images.

  14. These images are gorgeous Debby. ALL of these things you mention sound romantic to me. What matters most is that there is an effort made to (as you say) take the time to pay attention to someone else's needs, other than your own every now and then. I also believe that WE are in charge of our own romance when it comes to day to day living. A flower, candle, bubble bath, glass of wine.. all these things are easy ways of adding romance (with or without a partner to share).

Have a fun weekend Debby! :) xx leslie

  16. I love a bit of romance. Too much though and it can feel insincere. But I'm all for the small romantic gestures you do for each other to make one another feel special :)

My idea of romance these days.....perfect warm evening. Music playing. Candles lit. Fresh flowers about. Glass of champagne. Hanging with my honey!

Wishing you a romantic weekend, with all the trappings!
