Color Soiree: My Blue Heaven

 via
How's your week going? Is it just me or does this week seem to be flying by? Summers are like that. The kids are home, there is a constant flurry of activity, but I'm not complaining, I love it. I love the witty banter between my son and daughter, their music a constant backdrop to my days, the laughter of my kids friends escaping from the game room, and the overall feel that our house is alive.

All of these sounds are music to my ears. They are sounds of happiness, teens enjoying the freedoms that youth still allows them, and it tells me that all is okay with their world. What more could a mother ask for?

What does your summer sound like?

  1. Rustle of trees swaying, birds singing, cows mowing, tractors in the distance, Dylan dog barking and the husband laughing. Yep it's pretty much perfecct to my ears.

  3. I love that too........the sounds of teens and "life" present and alive in my home.....will take that anyday over a quiet still home, the activity is so welcome. Its been busier than what I might ideally want but going to New Orleans this weekend is the first "fun" thing I have done so I am really looking forward! More rain than usual too.......and with July 4th around the corner, I feel like the pressure is on, it normally speeds right by after that. Time to stop and enjoy and savor every summer day!

  4. Sounds wonderful Debby. My summer = constant buzz of the air-conditioner and fan + celebrations last night when Spain qualified for the Euro football finals (impossible to sleep) + the constant sound of packing tape being pulled, as we pack boxes for our moving ;-)

  5. Right now, my summer sounds silent. LOVE IT.

Hopefully however, today, I will be hearing the sounds of concrete being broken up, hammering and the squabble of working men and their hammers. Ahhhh.....blue heaven, that is what it's like in my garden this year with perwinkle blue lobelia in my window boxes....have a wonderful day sweet Debby! Anita

  12. You have such wonderful themed posts, Debby! Summer sounds like a nine year old playing, a puppy barking, and the cicadas singing way too soon. I thought I was over blue, but then...I embraced again and painted one bathroom billowing clouds blue. Love each of your chosen blue photos!

  13. Indeed, Debbie, what more!...
I'm totally jealous here, dear because here, in the Southern end of the world we are freezing our brains!!!, and I'm missing my time there last week terribly, so I simply adore to look at this kind of post just to warm my soul...

    Kisses & hugs, dear!

  14. I wish I had all of that activity at home too! It's a little sad here since my "baby" is getting ready to leave for college so I'm sort of struggling with that! All in all its been a great summer except for that hanging over our heads! Enjoy those teenage sounds!! I loved all of your pictures!

  16. Debby, I miss those days. Time goes by so fast. It seems like yesterday that I had a house full of young kids skate boarding through my house. Enjoy....Love the images you found.

Now on to the Highlands to hear the sweet (sometimes) sound of a golf ball being hit! E-mail me when you get a chance. New art you may want to blog about!!!!
