After lots of rain it has been the most beautiful New England weekend. The weather is glorious. My family and I spent a lovely afternoon yesterday soaking in the quaint town of Newburyport, MA. We savored a delicious meal at, The Black Cow, dining outdoors on the spacious deck, overlooking the waterfront. Then we rambled through the boutiques and shops, where my daughter managed to find a couple of cute dresses. The laundry, the bills, the mundane... all forgotten for the day. Day trips = happiness.

Love day trips..next best thing to a "real" trip:) For me, the Hamptons or The Hudson valley is a great and very much enjoyed and doable day trip. A "dream" day trip is to either Napa Valley, Tuscany or Marthas Vineyard.....they are all magical places in my eyes!! Your day sounds like fun...enjoy your Sunday.
ReplyDeleteOk, Debby...you are not flying to where I am...I am flying to where you are!! This looks amazing...I would love a weekend like this and right away!

ReplyDeleteOh De bby wasn't the weather just perfect all weekend, loved it! We worked outside all weekend and I couldn't have been happier. Love day trips but since summer keeps us busy around here we only go in the fall and winter.

My favorite day trip is definitely to either Aix or Avignon for lunch, a bit of shopping, and walking up and down the beautiful little streets soaking up the sights and the sunshine :) x
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful day you had. Marblehead on Lake Erie is one of my favorite day trips. Quaint village, the lighthouse, and of course Lake Erie, one of the Great Lakes. It's almost like being on the coast. Love your accompanying photos.
ReplyDeleteThe best day trip for me is going to the beach, a place where I truly get to unwind. Your day sounds wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you had a lovely day, so deserved!
ReplyDeleteWe drive up 2 hours to Sedona, AZ where my parents live.
It's ridiculously gorgeous there and always a little cooler than Phoenix in the summer - bonus!
Your weekend sounds lovely. Wine tasting in Napa is always our go-to day trip since we're so close.

Did a drive to Dennis, MA, then a 55 mile bike ride, with a swim in the middle. Serene and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI live in Milwaukee so day trips to Chicago (1.5 hrs away) is the absolute best. Also we have a tourist attraction called wisconsin dells which has an abundance of water parks including the biggest in the country (noah's art) as well as plenty of shops, restaurants, boat rides, and theme parks. I like to stay overnigtht but even when it's just for the day, it's always fun.
