I'm grateful to live in a country with so many freedoms. We have been allowed so many freedoms, in part, because of the many honorable young men and women, who sacrificed their lives to protect us. One day of honor seems like such a small gesture, in comparison to what they have done for our country. Their families have been left behind and devastated. Their lives cut too short and dreams left unrealized. Today we raise of flags in remembrance, gratitude, and with the knowledge, that their lives, and what they have done for us, will never be forgotten.Do you have a loved one in the service? What would you like to say to those that have served our country?
The Inspired Print Shop is up and running. I will be adding more prints soon as well as additional note cards. Thanks for all your support and for your orders. I'm happy to say it's been a great start!
No, but my dad was a war veteran. Oh Nantucket looks incredible, it's on my list of places to see.
ReplyDeleteGOOD MORNING GORGEOUS! Oh dear heart, my memories of New England are forever embedded into my mind as I spent so many glorious days just exploring YOUR beautiful culture and world. These homes are so cozy. Ruben and I frequented MARBLEHEAD almost every Sunday in the summer and especially on the FOURTH OF JULY. Watching the boats and eating the food and chatting with the locals were only a few of the great things we did.
ReplyDeleteI wish you so well on your new print shop experience. Your photography is so stunning and you just may be our New England photographer of Blogland!!! DO IT! Anita
I love it when you post about Nantucket, seems so pretty and very Americana (ish) Love your photos!
ReplyDeleteSo agree with all you said, certainly the most noble job of all. We must take time to acknowledge the tremendous sacrifice they made and are still making for us to live with the liberties that we do. Love your pictures....so patriotic, makes me want to head over to Nantucket right this very minute! Beautifully expressed Debby. Enjoy your day.
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are so pretty and my grandfather was a war veteran. Today is a day to remember all the sacrifice they have made as well as celebrate what a great country we live in.

This was such a perfect post in every way! Thanks so much for sharing and we certainly do need to take the time to be thankful for our many freedoms and grateful for those that served so that we could have those freedoms. One day just doesn't seem like enough though, does it? I'm thankful we can celebrate Memorial Day in remembrance of all of our past and present and future soldiers.

LOVE these images! Ah, still have to get to the East Coast one of these days! Happy Memorial Day!
ReplyDeleteI actually just found out that I have many, many relatives that came to American back in the early 1600s (thank you Ancestory.com!). Patriotic holidays are that much more special. I wish that more people really appreciated the reason for the celebration.
ReplyDeleteAnd p.s. I NEED to visit Nantucket!
i've never been to nantucket! such a shame for an aspiring kennedy, right? love this post... as cheesey as americana can feel to me, on certain moments- it feels absolutely perfect!
