You may have already come across this Parisian wedding so cleverly captured by The One and Only Paris Photography but I can't help myself from sharing it again.
Truth be told, I never had the dream wedding. Confession: I was five months pregnant when I married, (yes, my catholic grandmother is hanging her head in shame). Whatever. I do things backwards 9 out of 10 times. Should I have been ashamed? My answer is a resounding no. Backwards or not, I loved that little baby from the minute I found out he was growing inside me and there was no way judgement from others was going to taint such an incredible gift.
I missed out on the gown we all fantasize about as little girls, which is why I think I'm so enamored with sites such as Style Me Pretty and wedding inspiration. The upside? I have a daughter! Someday I hope to be able to give her the wedding of her dreams. After all, don't we always want more for our kids than what we've had?

Debby, gorgeous wedding! What a setting...spectacular and I iimagine every little girls dream version of that fairytale wedding. Thanks for your honesty, its refreshing and commendable. I believe God makes things happen and people come into our lives at different times, for reasons......only known to him. We take what we get and embrace it and love it. I would never judge, and instead am just so happy that you were given the blessing of having a child......they do change us forever, and I dont' think there is any love as uncondtional as that between a mother and a child. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI really like the striped bridesmaids dresses you have featured lately...they are so cute and refreshing. And the carosel...beautiful picture! Debby, I can tell what a great, loving mother you are...thank you for your example and for giving your child life! You will be greatly blessed for that! There are many children born within marriage vows who do not experience the love you show your kids! I commend you! GRACE is a powerful thing!
ReplyDeleteNo shame in that, Debby. And it's good that you'll get to experience the big dream wedding when your daughter gets married. And how lucky she'll be since you'll be chock full of inspiration to make it even more magical :)
ReplyDeleteAnd this wedding is incredibly swoon worthy. What a setting!
xoxo

ReplyDeleteWhat is backwards? Things happen in our lives as they are meant to happen ~ We need to remember all that we encounter is part of our pre-determined life plan. happy Wednesday, xo C. (HHL)

Everything happens for a reason Debby :) I like the stripes on the dresses! I don't think I've ever seen that! What a lovely spot they've chosen. Have a wonderful day.

Stunning wedding photos. I'm sure you will have all kinds of wonderful ideas for your daughters wedding.
ReplyDeleteI adore looking at wedding photos for the exact reason you do- it's fun to dream! Who knows? Maybe you'll remarry and an English Lord will sweep you off your feet and give you everything you've ever desired. And more.
ReplyDeleteWow! It's the first time I've seen these gorgeous shots. The actual house looks like it is in the UK-is it?
ReplyDeleteAs for your wedding-who is to say what is acceptable/normal or not? What made you feel happy, is acceptable for you ;-) xx
Debby, I love these pictures, first time I've seen them...I agree, we all dream of a wedding as gorgeous as this one, but...life happens...My wedding, was pretty much like yours (three month to me!), and it was the best thing that could happened to me, still is!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and commenting, dear!

i want to have a wedding just to be able to use this stripe theme
ReplyDeletewhy were weddings so lame back in the 80's???

So pretty, we had a destination wedding (way before they were popular) and though it was a dream of a wedding, we ended up having tropical downpours. If I were to do it all over again i would opt for a small country or beach wedding, something simple and elegant. With 3 girls, I will get to relive my wedding dreams 3 more times and hopefully you will too if you have a daughter!
ReplyDeleteThis chic black and white wedding is one for the storybooks!! And, it's so funny....I was all over this website last night, thinking what an amazing experience to have your picture taken in France, whether getting married or just for fun.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I found the whole wedding experience a bit draining. Now, I wish I could redo it --- I would change a number of things. All except the guy I married!! :)
And, someday you will thoroughly enjoy throwing your daughter the wedding of her dreams!
xoxo Elizabeth
Love the striped bridesmaids dresses, they're classy and simple at once. Like Pretty Pink Tulips said above, it is a draining experience when you're the bride. I echo her comment word for word. I'd do things on a much more smaller scale. I think it's the fact that you have to deal with everybody's personalities, and the personality flaws seem to come up on wedding day, let me tell you! You shouldn't have any regrets about your wedding day, it's only one day after all. And you got a beautiful baby out of it!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure your girl's wedding will be stunning Debby!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dresses and bouquets. Debby, I love your honesty and ability to share your thoughts. It's refreshing. Hope you are having a good week my dear!
ReplyDeleteReally intriguing choices for this wedding - striped dresses, apple place settings and a munchkin cake?? Have never seen those before - love that they put a unique twist on it!
ReplyDelete::Sigh:: what a gorgeous wedding! I love those fun bridesmaids dresses! I've been married almost 10 years and still love to look at beautiful weddings. It's part of the girly DNA, I think.
ReplyDeleteI love your candor too, and that you love your beautiful babies. :)
Keri
obsessed with those bridesmaid dresses! such a bold move and i love it!
ReplyDeleteI love your Wednesday weddings since we will be having a wedding sometime in the near future! Not sure how big it will be but it sure is fun to dream for our daughters, isn't it? Bringing a baby into the world is always a gift and I'm sure you treasure yours every day of your life!
ReplyDeleteDebby. You're awesome.
ReplyDeleteI've surfed the net more than three hours today, and your blog was the coolest of all. Thanks a lot, it is really useful to me
