That Inspirational Girl Series: #32 Sweet Summer Living

model: jessica frey photography, pillows by caitlin wilson textiles, cake, 3, 4+5
I know the spring season has just begun, but I am already dreaming of summer. I can't escape the nagging voice that tells me that someday I will move to Nantucket. I just feel it in my veins that it's where I'm supposed to end up. Here is the thing, I have no idea how it's going to happen, and I'm certain it probably won't be anytime soon.

With divorce comes inevitable change but it also allows us the gift of being able to reinvent ourselves. I have decided that I have an aching desire to create the life I want to live. It's not going to happen overnight and patience has never been my strong suit. Let's face it, God can't steer a ship that's not moving, so for now I will dream and not get discouraged. I think the biggest part in achieving any dream or goal is not losing sight of it. If you even think for a second that it's impossible you might as well kiss your dream goodbye.

  23. When I lived in Australia and was so extremely lonely, I purchased a coffee mug that said "Life isn't about finding yourself, it is about creating yourself". I would tell myself to keep moving forward and finding positive moments in every day. I tried to create myself. We lived there for 3 years and it must have worked because the last 2 years were a lot better than the first.
Keep dreaming and put it on your vision board!

  27. If Nantucket is where you want to be, then go! I'm a big fan of jumping and then figuring out the details. God willing, so far it has always worked out for me....say a little prayer, jump and everything will be ok! :)

Too many people spend their lives putting things off until tomorrow, but tomorrow never comes. Whether its waiting to have kids until the perfect time, changing careers, moving, et al...just do it. Life's too darn short. If it doesn't work out then you move back, but at least you won't wake up when your 90 with regret. And for the record, I'd be happy to house/rental shop with you! I've never been to Nantucket so consider this a charity tour guide..hehehe!

  29. I am SO with you on this journey!!! I think we all suffer setbacks in life and it is only with courage and determination that we move through them into a happier place.

My latest mantra is: "I'm thankful, I'm grateful and I'm mindful of the blessings in my life"....b/c I had noticed that I was focusing on the things I wasn't as thrilled with. But, I noticed that where you spend your energy and even what you think about is exactly what you attract in life. So, here's to attracting the life of our dreams!

    xoxo Elizabeth
