How about you? Do you follow the fashion rules or are you more rebellious and create your own? I have found that I feel the most confident and beautiful when I wear what I love. If others aren't on board... too bad. What about your home? Is it filled with treasures and cherished items? I'm about to do some spring de-cluttering and have decided that only things I love and adore are making the cut!

Oh, not only do I not jump on the latest fashion band-wagon trends because my HIPS just don't look good in ultra STRAIGHT pants or skirts, but because I am a gentle rebel. In other words, STUBBORN and artsy, creative and visionary. I wear what looks best on ME, and keep things simple. Diamonds and pearls and boots are my constant accessories, HECK YEAH!!! LOVE TO YOU DEBBY! Anita
ReplyDeleteomg amazing images. so inspiring. how funny, yesterday I posted about the end of summer here in Patagonia and choose the same lovely image of the table on your header. hope you're having a beautiful weekend, darling! xo
ReplyDeleteLove the sound of this girl!! Someone who marches to the beat of her own drum and isn't afraid to turn up the volume...gotta love her. With my home, I only put it in what I absolutely love even if it means waiting..would rather an empty room than a room that is filled with things I don't totally love! Now for fashion I know what I like and what looks good.....I dress accordingly though on occasion I do wish I could step outside the box just a wee bit and when I am feeling really brazen...I do and almost never regret it!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous (and inspiring) post! Thanks so much for starting my rainy Saturday off so beautifully. Have a marvelous weekend. - Jalon
ReplyDeleteI am a walking dichotomy (well maybe a trichotomy...if that's even possible!) when it comes to decorating my home, which to answer your question - yes, it is filled with items I adore! I change my decorating based on season/mood from coastal cottage, to traditional, to woolen/tartan rustic. Needless to say, we have a storage unit! When it comes to my clothes, I hate to admit I am guilty of following trends. However, new england trends are very different than southern ones, so I'm still trying to blend! :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos to brighten a blowing snow and gusty wind filled day! Yes, surrounding yourself with things that have meaning to you and are of use. Simplifying and living by YOUR own rules is Priceless!!! xo HHL
ReplyDeletefabulous post Debby...a perfect description of what every woman should be. Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks for these beautiful photos,Debby! Very inspiring.
ReplyDeleteHave the best weekend!
Big hugs!

I like some trends, but I stay true to who I am and the way I dress reflects who I am or how I feel on a given day. I think fashion is a form of art, an expression of who we are. Therefore not all trends will capture me! :) Thank you for the beautiful post!
ReplyDeleteDebby-
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on keeping only thing you love! I had to let go of some things because I just had too much.
Beautiful images.
happy Saturday.

I have no idea about fashion, on the other hand, I do know what suits my figure and personality. Have a radiant weekend. Greetings from Paris!
ReplyDeleteHilarious bedroom photo, Debby. You won't believe this but waaaaay back we had this exact headboard, which I immediately had painted in high gloss white. Anyway, I adore this girl too...she sounds a lot like you!!! xx's
ReplyDeleteIs in it what it is supposed to be... do what we "love"
ReplyDeleteYour blog Debby is inspirationnal and wonderfull

What a charming pink door.
ReplyDeletei'd like to think i'm more rebellious because even when i like what's out there i like to keep my style true to myself!
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with the pink door. I wonder if I could convince my boyfriend that magenta is completely acceptable on our future home?
ReplyDeletei think its sooo important to wear and decorate your home with what YOU love! I never follow trends, I just wear what I love... and buy from the sale rack. Personal sense of style is the best... follow the crowd and you'll get lost in it ;) ! xx,

Lovely post & gorgeous photos Debby!! Oh how I wish I could paint my door pink...
ReplyDeleteI love when you do the 'inspirational girl' Debby! Yep, I just do what I want these days (something good to look forward to as you age - the little things don't matter as much and you are confident enough to dress .. or do what you'd like and don't worry as much about what others think). My house is evolving into what I like - gradually replacing all the stuff that I had when I was raising the kids.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of the weekend!
I love this girl...she's so me! Have a wonderful weekend!

I think I adhere to mostly 'classic' dressing rules, but then sometimes I do dream about breaking all the rules - perhaps this inspirational girl is a reminder for me to do this!
ReplyDeleteI love your line - she doesn't compromise herself, ever. Better advice has never been given, thank you Debby.
Your blog makes me happy, those pictures are so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI dont experiement as much as I would like to. But in my house I only put what I really love.
Oh no, I love it all!
ReplyDeleteEverything is so pastel.
P.S. Thank you for your sweet comment!

Debbie, After 40 you don't care as much for the trends. You where what you want! Its harder to find clothes that don't look to young and not to old.
ReplyDeleteThis is so inspiring. I'm only 25 but I love wearing things that make me happy, I'm petite so I dress for my body type and most trends seem to pass me by! Our home is full of treasures that my husband and I have collected on our travels. And books, lots of books! Can't wait to hear how the de-cluttering goes!
ReplyDeleteSo wonderfully colourful! Love that bed!
ReplyDeleteI love to pick on trends that suit me. If they don't then I don't care for them. I will always mix them up with my own style though. Pieces that mean something to me.
