Giveaway: Win A Bracelet From June 1989

Do you follow Collette of Statements in Fashion?  She is a total sweetheart.  She has graciously offered to allow me to host a giveaway for one of my readers to win the bracelet of their choice.

June 1989 is a new business venture for Collette and her gorgeous daughter, Chloe. The story behind their business is an important one that I'd like to share. At the age of eleven, Collette's son, Alex, passed away unexpectedly from spinal meningitis.

"Alex's symbol  in my life, is the dragonfly. I have seen them every Spring and Summer since the day of his death. I believe it's his way of letting me know that he is still with me, "following" me in everything that I do. The dragonfly represents renewal, positive forces and the power of life." ~Collette

Chloe decided a couple months ago to design bracelets in memory of Alex. Once her friends saw her wearing the bracelets, they started asking Chloe to make one for them. She started selling her bracelets in area boutiques and nail salons, and has been on fire ever since!  Each bracelet bears a dragonfly charm in memory of him.

"Everyone walks from a different life, everyone has a story to tell, and my painful story resurfaces again, but this time, in a wonderful way. A way I cannot even put into words. A story that was once spoken by me, but will continue to be told by my daughter Chloe." ~Collette

I'll hope you'll join me in wishing these two beautiful ladies much success in their new endeavor!

  19. What a beautiful story and a wonderful way to honor sweet Alex. I thought of my Mom reading this. Whenever a bird comes close to me or hangs around in the garden while I am out gardening I feel that my Mom is there with me. Birds held a very special meaning to my Mom. Such a lovely and meaningful venture Collette and Chloe are embarking on and pretty bracelets! I love the Pearl Roundelle.

  20. What a lovely way to cope with loss.

The bracelets are very appealing...it's nigh impossible to choose just one as a favorite. I suppose at this moment it would be the gunmetal gray. As soon as I finish this manuscript (strictly speaking I shouldn't be looking at this now), I'm ordering several for me and friends.

    Thank you for sharing them.

  24. Debby,
I don't even know where to begin.....thank you so very much for supporting Chloe and & I here on your blog today, and of course June 1989. I cannot express the emotions I feel since announcing the opening of the store and seeing everyone's wonderful comments here, on Twitter & Facebook. It truly IS something I cannot describe.
Both Chloe & I are overwhelmed at how wonderful the store is being received, and of course Alex's story being told, and his memory continuing on in each and every person who hears or reads it.

Your readers are amazing people with such thoughtful & supportive words.....I'm actually in tears as I am typing my words reading the wonderful outpouring of emotion on this thread alone.

Debby, you are far more to me than a blogging friend, as you know, you are someone who has captured my heart and soul. You are indeed, the good in everyone:)

    I love you!
