Color Soiree: Butter Me Up

I love a buttery soft cabinetry.  My kitchen walls are painted in New England Yellow by Laura Ashley. I had the color in our last home and loved it so much that I insisted on having it in my current kitchen. What design elements in a home are you absolutely crazy about or do you dream of having one day? Let's pretend money is not an issue and the sky is the limit!

My dream list would contain:

Marble kitchen counters
Chevron floors throughout home
French chandeliers - everywhere including master closet
Outside fireplace and patio
Fireplaces in master bath, master bedroom, kitchen, dining
Mudroom (oh, how I wish I had one when my kids were younger)!
Butler + maid (ha ha - just kidding)
Library with built in bookshelves
Large walk-in closet with sitting area

I could go on and on but I'd prefer to hear what you have to say.  Maybe I could just move into Tina's home.  She has been busy building her, (and my), dream home!!  Seriously, I can not read her home updates without wiping the drool from my mouth.

  3. Hi Debby, these inspiration rooms are gorgeous. If I could have anything I would like to have in my home it would be a beautiful and nice size dressing room. I just wanted to let you know that I absolutely love your blog, it's the first one I go to in the mornings, don't always have time to comment but I do visit often. Hope you have a great day!

Whats a beautiful home that is not filled with love and laughter? Love that first picture...wow! Love all the soft yellows, so soothing and pretty, and I enjoyed your list. 5. I love this color...I am going to make note of it for the future. For me right now, I would just take the maid! But, I am like you, the more fireplaces the better. I need a cabinet re-do but it will have to wait for now! happy wednesday!!!

  6. I like yellows that have a bit more gold to them but the antique piece you've shown above is just about perfect. A few furniture pieces I'm still dreaming about but they don't really go with our home so they're probably out. You've really shown some beautiful images.

  8. ooooh i loooooooove buttery yellow also. Our kitchen is more of creamy off-white with a hint of yellow, but when we repaint (& add wood countertops & a soapstone topped island to offset our white cabinets) i'm hoping to up the butter yellow hue!

  10. OH, goodness! I don't even know where to begin! Definitely a wrap around porch for talking and eating, a beautiful lake in the front and maybe the back, and huge bay windows.

  14. Love yellow and just painted my master bathroom vanity a soft yellow, it came out beautiful. A giant closet with lots of storage is a luxury to me as is a covered patio of some kind.

  17. Since I am building a home right now, your list really resonates with me but I'm sure you'd agree that we would be happy in a small, little house with a person that really loves us and cherishes us! Whenever I get the "gimmies" I try to keep things in perspective. I always love all your beautiful images and they help me to dream!
