Sometimes it's just good to be a "fancy pants" type of gal. Little things can really make our lives feel a bit more fanciful and we don't need to dole out two paychecks for a pair of Jimmy Choo's to feel fabulous.
Have you tried a Gelee Shellac manicure? I love them. Between coats your hands are placed under a UV light for a minute or two which makes the polish adhere and get this... no chips! You couldn't chip them if you tried. The polish remains in tact for about 14 days at which time you'll want to remove because you will see nail growth by then. You can go to the salon for removal or do it your self by using 100% acetone polish. Very cool for those of us who actually clean, etc. and don't live a life of leisure.
How about making a Christmas appropriate macaroon tower for your dessert table? This little DIY makes it look so easy!
Another DIY that I'm dying to try is making a pair of glitter heels. It looks like a messy project but a great way to liven up an old pair of shoes and make them holiday party perfect. I'll let you know how I make out.
How do you bring fancy into your daily life?

Funny my sister in law brought a macaroon tower last night for our Christmas party and needless to say I indulged. Haven't heard of that manicure but I don't get them very often these days so am out of the loop. There are so many ways to add a little glamour to your life, its important that we all do it in some small way shape or form, I agree!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day Debby:)
I received a gift certificate for a manicure from students and I think I am going to try the Shellac!! Beautiful pictures as always!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter found a pair of gold glitter pumps the other day that she loved. Unfortunately, they didn't have her size. She was crushed! Guess what we'll be doing over Christmas break? Maybe matching pairs for mother and daughter? Love it!

Well you know I love me some fancy! I like to treat myself to pretty make up. I also received a bonus yesterday and bought that Kate Spade I've been eyeing for months (and it was on sale!) A little pre-Christmas present from me to me. :)

I'm all about fancy pants, Debby! Actually that's what J refers to me as!!! Sparkle, feather, fur {faux}. I live for it all :)
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a great week, sweetie! xoxo
So pretty! Love the colors, make-up, and I need to get those shoes!
ReplyDeleteI love all the sparkle. For me my fancy is my engagement ring or a really great pair of heels. I've been wanting to try the gel mani, I'm always chipping my nails.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous images ... I agree sometimes the simple things can make our day heavenly! I have been making a point of stopping in afternoon at 3:00 pm (when I am at home)and taking tea ... the 1/2 hour -1 hour I take helps me to detach and enjoy the moment.
ReplyDeleteGoing for to check out Fashion-Isha.. it looks brilliant!! xo HHL
Debby thank you so much!! I got a few extra visitors today because of you. I'm enjoying my new blog design so much!!

Debby, I am going to have to try that manicure and i am with Sharon...macarons and Jimmy Choos! Sounds good.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Shellac! Before shellac I'd given up on painting my nails as mine chip after a day & just look horrid. Now I can actually have pretty colourful nails to match my toes!!
ReplyDelete~ Clare x
I need one of those manicures! I despise chips so I only wear color from Fridays - Sundays because I'm not cleaning as much. Such a pain in the petunia xo
ReplyDeleteshellac never worked for me :( unfortunately...
