Believe

I don't know when it began but somewhere along the line I told myself that spotting a deer was good luck. Well, as fate would have it, one of Santa's little helpers was in my front yard the other day just starting at me through the glass storm door. We locked eyes for a minute and I reasoned with myself that spotting him is a sign... 2012 is going to be my year. I think I may have to treat myself to a Kate Spade Idiom Bangle as a reminder. It's engraved with cute little messages such as, "This is the year to... make sparks fly." Love that!

Being the geek that I am I researched the symbolism behind a deer. This is what I found, "Deer teaches gentleness and quietude. She also brings peaceful resolution."

If good luck isn't your thing these days then there is always  chocolate mousse for a pick me up! What is it about adorable little serving pieces that just makes desserts look so much more delectable?

Do you have any little quirky things that you take as signs or good luck?

    1. The bane of the internet is constant reposting, so people forget or never know the source. I just spent the last 2 hours looking for this coat

  6. Love the image of the deer it looks like home to me. We have six deer that literally never leave our property so we feed them. Even when we walk Dylan dog at night they don't run, I'll have to get some pictures during the day they're fabulous!

  19. I love self-made good luck charms, and a deer is such a good one! How can those dark dreamy eyes be bested? I like reading fortune cookies fortunes for good luck. I deem the good fortunes meant for me, and the not-so-good ones are thrown in the trash with my take-out container and forgotten.

That chocolate mousse recipe looks delicious! I think I'll try it.

    Merry Merry,
    Keri

  26. I often refer to Animal Medicine Cards (based on Native American teachings), to understand an animals message. They say, "Deer teaches us to use the power of gentleness to touch the hearts and minds of wounded beings who are trying to keep us from Sacred Mountain" and "If a Deer had nudged its way to you, you are being asked to find the gentleness of spirit that heals all wounds. Stop pushing so hard to get others to change, and love them as they are. Apply gentleness to your present situation and become like the summer breeze: warm and caring. This is your tool for solving the present dilemma you are facing."

I wish you gentle power in the New Year!

  30. What pretty images! I wholly believe in lucky signs and mine is spotting a penny on the ground. I end up collecting them and keeping them in my pocket until I jingle. I always have at least one and if I don't have a pocket, it goes in my bra (shhh... don't tell anyone!). May your 2012 be filled with luck! Cynthia
