A Change Is In The Air

It has been unseasonably warm for November here in Boston. The nip in the air caught me off guard last night when I stepped outside to drive my daughter to a friend's house. For me, cold temps go hand in hand with all things comforting... warm throws, crackling fires and yummy treats such as  Coffee Cake Bites which are on my to-do list. I plan on savoring one while I catch up on my blog reading which I've been so dearly missing.

The change in temperature is just one of many changes for me. Even though my future is looking uncertain at the moment, I have a tremendous sense of peace. It's like I'm shielded within the quiet confines in the middle of the storm. Even with the frenzy that an upcoming storm predicts there is also a buzz of excitement about it. That's where I am. Excited for what the future has is store. Unaffected by difficulties that the will surely come my way. Peaceful, because I trust I am part of a bigger plan and there are better things in store for me. There is nothing that compares to truly tapping into the life you were meant to lead.

Has your life ever taken a complete detour? Did the experience make you blossom in adversity?

  7. God is so good and creative and trustworthy...that peace that passeth all understanding is such a blessed gift that He gives...I am in the midst of it as well. I love facing each day with anticipation of what He has for me...if you had told me just three years ago that I would become a style blogger, i would have fallen down laughing!! But I love it and God knew that I would!!

  9. This is so wonderful, Debby! I'm so excited for you! I was thrown a major curve ball a few years ago, and it has been absolutely life-changing. Tough at times (and still), of course, but so many blessings have poured out and it has brought me so much closer to God. There's no worthier outcome. Praying for you!

Beautiful photos, by the way! :)

  12. YES Debby! I recently had a HUGE setback with someone I thought was going to be my "partner" instead they stole all my ideas and kicked me to the curb! Although my plans are detoured I know there is a plan for me that is bigger and better :)

  16. I love that bed positioned in the middle of the room and facing the windows! I think that's a great way to start a day-- looking out at the world.

All the best to you, Debby! My life hasn't been the smoothest sailing at times lately either, but the harder times give me a chance to pause, take a deep breath and be consciously thankful for the simplest things, like just being alive!

  17. Oh Debby! This is such a fantastic post for so many reasons. Life detours can be frustrating but what I love about them is that you know they take you to the intended direction. That's what detours are, right?

You have such a way with words. Thanks for this beautiful post.

  20. I hope all is OK. Sending thoughts and prayers your way.

I agree, cold weather goes hand in hand with all things comfy. It's just starting to get "cold" here in SoCal. And by that I mean the 60s.
