The ever so stylish, Lisa of Hamptontoes is here today. Lisa is a super talented interior designer, blogger, and is just as sweet as can be. She exudes style! I am beyond thrilled that she has agreed to take part in this series! Welcome, Lisa!
Favorite Summer Getaway
My favorite summer getaway is the Hamptons. I am not one to travel during summer months. Having grown up on the East coast and spent my summers at the beach there is no place in the world I would rather be during the summer. The Hamptons offers many things to many people, but for me I'm into the water sports, (wake boarding, paddle boarding, kayaking), the beach, the pool, pit stops at the farm stands for my "picked that day" farm fresh fruits and vegetables, landscaping my yard, outdoor showers, al fresco dining and BBQ's on our back deck.
Favorite Summer Outfit
During the day I love kaftans. This season I am loving several from Ralph Lauren, Brooks Brothers, Roberta Freymann, Boden, etc. And for dinners on our deck I almost always go for a maxi dress. I have an aversion to wearing them during the day while I'm out and about (it may sound silly, but I feel the bottom of my dress is cleaning the sidewalks, streets, and stores while I'm walking) so I opt to wear them in the comfort of my own home.
Favorite Summer Drink
My favorite summer drink is fresh brewed unsweetened iced tea. Simple but true!
Favorite Summer Music
With a just turned three year old and a five year old, I'll have to say that I am not hip on current music. I'm usually listening to music that makes my children smile, even when they've heard it over and over and over. If they are smiling, giggling, and behaving that is music to my ears!
Favorite Summer Recipe
Printable Recipe
Printable Recipe
There are too many to pick just one! I especially like to cook during the summer. I find it easy to serve simple, yet yummy dishes. Mussels Arrabiata, Barefoot Contessa's Shrimp and Feta recipe, nothing beats fresh picked corn on the cob with a smear of butter, sliced tomatoes with olive oil drizzled on top, a few leaves of fresh basil and a sprinkle of coarse sea salt, homemade gazpacho soup...to name just a few!
Favorite Summer Scent
I don't wear perfume during the summer months. I prefer Dove's Cucumber and Green Tea body spray. It smells fresh and simple. I buy it at Target.
Must Have Beach Product
My must have beach product in the Nantucket Buggy! I load up the buggy and pull it right through the sand without juggling all of the stuff my family needs for a fun outing at the beach. However, after I've done my fair share of digging and building sand castles, I love reading Dan's paper, The Independent and following two mags: Hamptons and Hamptons Cottages and Gardens.
Favorite Summer Beauty Product
I spend a significant amount of time in the sun, so sunscreen would be my "beauty in a bottle" choice, along with a cowgirl hat to keep the sun off my face. I like the Aveeno sun screen line. Even with constant re-applying I don't feel like I have a build up of sunscreen.
So there you have it... I told you she was fabulous! Be sure to visit Lisa over at Hamptontoes for more of her fabulous style! Thanks for sharing, Lisa! xoxo
