The inspiration: A tribute to retro served with a side of chic.
My heart skipped a beat when spotted this model's fabulous take on 60's style. Her voluminous hair is so cleverly updated into a side pony that works for today. The 60's era has my heart and some of the best fashion icons ruled at that time. From Bridgitte Bardot, Jackie O., Catherine Deneuve, not to mention the fabulous Twiggy!
What era do you find yourself most drawn to?

Her hair is amazing! :)

ReplyDeleteOh I know!!! How fabulous is she? I love that whole editorial...I think it was for the Americana. Total London 60s. I really would love to have lived in that time :)

I think you nailed the Retro Chic vibe! In the 60s I wanted to mimic the Beatles girlfriends...Jane Asher, Cynthia Lennon, Maureen Stapleton, Patti Boyd...Wow I can still remember their names! But I wouldn't call them chic...today I love the Jackie O, Catherine Deneuve type of class...that is similar to what I am posting about today! It is fun to take their style and up date the look!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous post...ox
ReplyDeleteGorgeous- love her hair and the way you put this together. I myself am drawn to flapper style- adore it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post! The guest room with the double beds is gorgeous! I am drawn to the '60's era - the flared pants, flowing dresses, platform heels, nude lipstick = love.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous images!!That trunk is amazing, adore it!

love the pearls and her hair! great post.
ReplyDeleteFabulous could definitely see a modern day twiggy or Edie living in these spaces. The 40's and 50's have my heart, from the mirrored decor of the 40's to the voluminous skirts of the 50's.

My kind of glamour!!! I had to smile when I saw those twin beds updated for today. I grew up with a bed just like them (mine was a full) and it belonged to my mother before me. Sadly, with just boys....it sits in the attic now.

Probably the 40's and the 60's but you know I love them all. You inspired me. I might have to put the line "vintage with a side a chic" on my shop header, just love that!
ReplyDeleteI'm drawn to the glamorous 20s & also the fabulous 50s!! My Mum always tells me I was born in the wrong era :-)
