The Artist Within

via 1+2, 3 + 4
There is a little Picasso living in each of us. Everyone is creative in their own way. Creativity takes many forms, from painting, creating the perfect floral arrangement, baking beautiful cupcakes, or the ability to take a freshly scrubbed face, and use it as a canvas for a make up masterpiece. I have found that I am always happiest when I am creating. I've have worked as a hairstylist, and as a visual merchandiser in the fashion industry, and found both fields suited me well. Sitting in a cubicle or office for eight hours a day  is just not in the cards for me.

I'd love to hear how your creativity is expressed!

  1. Gorgeous, beautiful post!! I paint for my creative outlet, but am stuck in an office for many hours, three days a week. Thank goodness for our inner Picasso ;-)

  3. I am with you...I am also my happiest when I am creating. I love creating my jewelry for my shop (on my blog) and I am just about to launch a new shop for home decor items that I make. I just can't get enough of creating beautiful things! Beautiful post with beautiful images!

  6. Debby-
    Such beautiful images, as always!
When I paint I make such a mess, unlike this lovely young lady.
I hope that you are having a great weekend.

  7. This post is perfect for me today! My Mom has been on my mind so much lately and I miss her terribly and then I saw your post with the gorgeous sterling silver roses! Those were my Mom's favorite flower. She was my biggest supporter of encouraging me to follow my passion and creativity. After my office job ended due to to the economy, I pursued my passion....to paint furniture and make jewelry. I could not be happier! Thanks for a lovely way to start my Saturday, Debby!

  9. I so agree. I have to create, it is a part of my being. I think only us creative types understand it is more than what we do, it is part of who we are.
I like your reference to a freshly scrubbed face as a canvas. It truly is. I just did a requested post on my favorite lip colors today. I will now think of them as paint for my lips!!!
Have a wonderful weekend, this was such a lovely post, Kathysue

  13. Beautiful! It makes me a little sad that I don't have more time for my inner Picasso! I'd love a bit more time to go off and paint and take my mind off my day-to-day job. The dream is to be creative 100% of the day, not just the 5% it currently is! x x x

  14. Debbie,
I spent 14 years in Corporate America (knowing it wasn't the perfect fit but a really good job)....and it was only after taking time off to be with my children that I found my creativity flourishes when I'm decorating, entertaining, writing or taking photographs! I'm still on the journey!!

  15. Treading the boards for me. I feel alive when I step out on that stage. I'm at my happiest when I'm delving into the dark depths of a character.
