Simply Smitten: California, Luxurious Living & Getaway

It's no surprise that Jim Murphy of JMA Builders in Santa Rosa, CA was voted custom builder of 2011 by Custom Home Magazine. Their distinctive home portfolio ranges from Mediterranean style villas, Napa Valley Farmhouses set amongst vineyards, to Craftsman style ridge top retreats.

These lovely California homes are making me long for a villa getaway at my favorite Southern, CA resort. I can't recommend Pelican Hill Resort enough for anyone looking for a true luxury vacation.  Here are some photos:

The resort was inspired by, Andrea Palladio, an Italian architect in the 16th century. The service and food is as wonderful as the grounds are lovely, and the spa is top notch

The villas are ideal for families and get this... they come with your own butler! I kept trying to figure out how we could bring Mario home with us. The villa guests also get their own pool which is very private and quiet. Make sure you try the Pistachio gelato!

Have you visited Pelican Hill? What is your favorite getaway?

  11. oh my goodness, that first house! I'd happy with just the kitchen ... OK, and maybe just a small part of the pool. I don't need anything else.

Maybe I have to start buying lottery tickets!

  15. I'm gonna have to mention this to the chef...although a drive by may or may not lead to me flinging myself out of the vehicle.

  21. Those homes are absolutely beautiful!
I loves me a good wood beam. It automatically adds a "special something" to any design.
