Simply Smitten: Windows

via 1+2, 3+4
"Better keep yourself clean and bright; you are the window through which you must see the world."
~George Bernard Shaw

Confession:  I was the student always staring out the window in class.  I still do it.  I always choose the seat near a window whether it be at a restaurant, airport, or doctor's waiting room.  The first thing I do upon entering a hotel room is throw open the room darkening blinds to explore the view and let in the light.  Some would say it's the dreamer inside but I think it is more about staying connected to the world.
You know that feeling you step outside and you notice the clouds or see a sliver of the moon?  You feel miniscule... part of a bigger plan... your problems become minor in the scheme of things.  It's the same for me when I view life through a window.  The buzz of a city viewed from a hotel window or the first blossom on a pear tree viewed through the kitchen window help to remind me that there is a whole world out there just waiting to be appreciated and lived to the fullest.
Do you stare out windows too?

  2. I'm exactly the same!! I was always in trouble for staring out the window & dreaming instead of paying attention in class. Now I know I was just trying to ponder the bigger picture ;-)

God does speak in the everyday fabric of our lives..wherever LOVE is involved, He is there. Let us live and love on..that is what I think, after all is said and done, that we were meant to DO in this life.

  15. It's funny you mention windows. Now that my desk is facing one, I can't believe I looked at a wall for so long! And, whenever I'm on a plane, I always request the window seat....not too comfortable if I can't see out.

I think we're all craving some sunlight these days. Hope you have lots of it this weekend!
